You don't need to do that usually you can generally manipulate the hair with sliders in the parameters tab or you can pose bundles of hair itself. I think you are using the Jocelyn hair which has both options. (not saying this render was perfect either as a strand of her hair is coming out of her cheeck but you get the idea.
