Hi, I'm relatively new to DAZ Studio. This is a sci-fi character I've been working on. Her name is Nina (for now).
Any criticism is very welcome. :D
PS. I know her hair color is kinda off in the dress version, I'm gonna try to find a replacement.

I like how she's got some attitude here. As for the color on the dress version you could probably use the surfaces tab for the hair and see about adding a bit more red to get closer rather than straight up finding something else to use.

Hello my friends!

I'm a little bit ashamed to post this render here but as you can see I have some problems with lights.

Please ignore some issues with textures. Its still "work in progres" ;)

I'm trying to render with iRay. There is one spotlight on the right side of the scene.
This soft light on the big guy is there even without any spotlights. So it looks like spotlight added by me doesn't work at all.

Light Geometry: Rectangle
Height and Width: 100
Luminous: 100000

Any ideas?

why bother with the light? Just add one more to the left side of the guy and one more to the right side.
That gives the scene more shadows and depth.

Thanks a lot! :giggle:
Did not know I could do that for hair, I'll try it!

In the Render Tab there's a Menu entry "Environment", make sure that it is set to "Scene only" if you just want to see your added spotlight.
If it is "Dome and Scene" you'll see your spotlight and the lighting by the recently choosen HDRI.
Also make sure that your spotlight is set to "Photometric mode".
If it is all black then, make sure your spotlight is proper aligned and increase the lumen until it is bright enough.
