Relatively SFW. Continuing with my character building for Asian models.

Here are Zhu (left) and Chen. You have likely surprised them by making an unannounced entrance in a shady underground casino / gambling den in a Chinatown somewhere in the Western world, where they work as croupiers / usherettes. They don't know yet whether to get you thrown out or welcome you. Your behaviour will decide the outcome.

NOTE: I became too generous with the vaginal spread proportions for Zhu, so there is too much of a gap between her thighs. Will try to remedy that.

Critiques, comments welcome. zhu & chen.png

Hi guys, help me out, please, how to choose a shell in the M_Texture Wizard? I just get to the point where I put it on the genitals, but after that, according to the instructions, I need to choose it, but I don’t understand how to do it, help me if it’s not difficult

I was considering posting this in its own thread but maybe I can get a answer here, and this thread is for daz studio

so been furthering my knowledge off Daz Studio for awhile now and feel am close to making my first game (small one).

I was curious how other people tackle "scenery" through a window , like in the below image, can see the window and pretty much my character (Eric) is looking at nothing, as its pretty much transparent.

scene1.png

I pretty much figure I basically add another house or a garden at other side of windows, so essentially build a street around the house being used in scene.

I was curious about the sky , anyone know of sky presets for day time and night time?

I would use a Sky Dome to get a view, and then put a light outside facing in at the angle/intensity you prefer. I'm still new to this though, and others might have a better idea/trick. :)

I was planning to just use "Scene only" and no Dome, so not sure that will work for me but I shall remember it.

Sky dome + distant light with or without ghost light for the interior

alright I now see the reason for using dome, added Sun-Sky only dome and now see the difference.

thank you Enyos and EvilUser , I really should have tested the diff dome options but read somewhere scene only was best.

Adding in more to the scenery will be harder on the machine and take longer to render. You could look at Billboards too, as their not too taxing on the rendering process in comparison to more structures.

I thought it be what is seen in viewport via a camera that be rendered, and therefore didn't matter about other things in scene that wasn't in viewport. guess it all adds to render time, no matter if it seen or not?

In Iray, all objects are taken into account for purposes of bloom, reflections, shadows, glows, etc.. You'll find a lot of people will remove walls, objects, and even clothes from a scene that's not in the viewport for those reasons. (You can also toggle them as invisible.)

yeah that was my first thought when I first read your last comment, may need to remove buildings etc out of shot.

that actual image I showed earlier is just a floor with the wall built up on one side

certainly makes me rethink some stuff, thanks for info.

got the sky dome sorted, its pretty easy , love how you can adjust the time of day for it. I went with a mid range camera and XLarge soft light (Controller) pointed down and at wall + character. looks great, just need to build other house with neighbour he looking at now.

I build almost all of my scenes from scratch using bits and pieces of different assets. The trick is that you really only need a few key things to fill out the scene- those that can be seen (directly or in a reflection) and those that affect what can be seen (shadows mainly).

Another trick is to do multiple renders. Make a scene of the outside world and render it, then render your indoor scene but leave the dome off so everything that's empty is transparent. Photoshop the interior render over the exterior render and you'll only see through the windows.

Toggling them as invisible does not reduce the render time. I tried that on a bathroom scene, and it went an hour and a half before my machine decided it was nap time. Normally, that scene (without the extra garbage) would be 30-45 minutes on my rig, tops. I am taking to having a fully rigged scene as my "working" scene" then once I know what I want to render, saving a copy and stripping out the excess to speed up rendering time.
