Recreating and reworking my characters as 8.1 figures... since I used to use Genesis8 primarily.. I feel like 8.1 responds to lighting better...

Personally, I'd say yes, also I find Genesis 9 to be easier to work with morphwise than G8/8.1, Genesis 3, 8 & 8.1 clothing works easily with auto-fit, boots & trouser legs are still a bit of a problem, thou. Posing is much easier with G9, less arm & leg bones to worry about, & hands & feet morphs are much better, it's easy to give a G9 figure different length finger & toenails, even a mix of round, square, oval shapes on one hand....

Some screenshots from my avn with 3rd person gameplay "G.U.C. Nova". I like creating realistic bodies on the women. Love handles, stretch marks, clothes that look tight, fix that horrible boob deformation that Daz clothing does. Its in early development. Enjoy.

Very dark. Add some point lights. One in the middle but back, behind the couch. Not hidden by the couch. Two more, maybe by the armrest about characters head level. Not boring white lights. Add a little tint of blue or purple to them. Bring the lumen up to about 25000. See how that works for starters. Also bring the camera in closer.
