I've been so inspired by the work here that about two weeks ago I decided to install Daz3D and see what I could do with it.

I mean, it's a free program, right ? (Note: this is a little joke)

Today I rendered the first image that I'm not completely embarrassed by:



The main tools I haven't explored yet are dForce and geografts. I have many questions. So many questions.

I think I already see that the biggest challenges and room for improvemen will always be lighting and posing. Shadows and reflections all over the place that I didn't notice in my excitement to post this. Ah, well...

Thanks! I did this with Octane, but you can get a similar look in iray if you turn the lens bias on the camera to 0 (or 1? I forget which way you have to go... pretty sure it's 0).

I just checked. With 0, what's out of focus appears with that motion blur effect. Something new I've learned, thanks to you.
