Does anyone know how to remove grain from shadow areas without loss of quality and don’t use a denoiser on render settings?

There is moonlight, a couple of other light sources in the scene, but the light from the fire and the light from the lamp in the tent give graininess due to the shadows.

Change emission from lamp to Ghost light?
About denoiser. Change "Post Denoiser Start Iteration" on couple of last frame of your "Max Samples"

In this case you don't loss quality and grain gone.

One thing you might try is to hunt down all the lights in your scene except the lamp and fire and disable them/zero them all out. Render one pass with just the fire and lantern - this tends to make Iray much faster, and you can also run a denoiser on just this image if you want. Then, you can turn them off (just turn the lantern's emissive color to black), turn the others on, and render only the rest of the lights. Then add them together in Gimp/PS (using additive blending). I've used this trick on a couple renders and it can speed up the render by a lot. (This can be a fiddly process and I've thought about making a script to help out with it but haven't gotten around to it yet)

To "ItsNotUs" not to the fine Active member....This is why I suggested to you to learn Photoshop...when I used to be Alex Dreamlight and you thought wrongly I was talking down on your art...the grains are easily "gone" with the blur tool...want me to prove this to you?

HERE blurred the grain and some post-work for beautifying it more(your image was 720p I would always render on 4k so by reducing it to hd 1080 some of the grain will be also reduced plus the details are better on 4k...if I lost some spots it doesn't matter...you got the point I am making...this is how I deal with grainy shadows too like her left thigh...) And if you come saying...yeah but what about their faces?...this is why I learned how to use Autospot render so I can render perfectly just a square portion on their faces containing just their eyes nose mouth!!!Hell I did this on my animation there...Just one static render and all dialogues on Autospot render by esteban gonzales the professor!!!:love::love:

Then you could divide your render in layers and also in lights...the Val "Dreamlight" technique and combine them all together on Photoshop...
