its shameful but i admit, once i used to blame devs for their frequent delays in making their projects but since then i have started learning coding and all the things that come with it myself, it has shown me how ignorant and narrowminded i was. i have newfound respect for all the devs now. but even without that, i was always a big fan of DMS so tomato was one of my alltime favourite game devs that is including all the normal games we normally find in steam,ubi,ea etc. i was in depression seeing the delays this time hoping that it doesnt get abandoned as well. so, i was so happy to see the new update, but then i played the game and the messages left by Rykiru shattered my happiness into bits. specially that last message, man i actually started crying and here i am supposed to beating my meat instead.

Doing all the work as one person, or at most two... It gets exhausting sometimes, yes. Personally that's why I'm taking a break this month.

Maybe it's not only that but it's also the money problem when you see that your project doesn't make how you imagined to make you just decide that it's not worth it and it's not a bad thing leaving something that you see that it's a waste of time in buinsess perspective because we are not 13 we are not going to school anymore we have responsibilities and time is money and you decide where it's best to spend your time on

But I don't believe that he stopped because of the haters, I believe that something happend to him or he just decided to take a break I don't think that he abandoned the game because he would inform Ruykiru, but I do believe and hope that he will come back

I really enjoyed the game it's one of my favourites out there he nailed it with the incest relationships, I really wish there were more games like that with zombie apocalypse theme there are only 3 games with honey select and each one of them is perfect

Thank you kindly for the rescued update Ruykiru, I really appreciate it. If you do take it upon yourself to finish the shortened version of DMS, maybe indicate it in the title to differentiate it, something like: Deadmoon Survival: Alternate. That way if Tomato returns he can still continue the original, ideally with renewed enthusiasm to continue with the intended expanded story.

Dev had to cut content due to support dropping off after patreons new rules and entitled fans complaining about everything.

Dev ghosted everyone and his co writer dropped what he had for this update.

Ok I see ty, too bad I think zombies scenes were well done graphically, I don't know if its the best option financially speaking to focus his story on lesbian content

Not against the lesbian path, just because in this update the les scene was forced, as it is an incomplete update.
What of the update is here is good imo, just that is incomplete, Ruykiru released what he had of the update as hot tomato is missing for some time.

0.9 update was a mistake in my opinion. It's abrupt and doesn't have same vibe as the rest of the story, I would prefer not stain original brilliant work with such low quality piece. I'll be hoping Hottomato will return one day to finish it.

What do you mean? It was abrupt because it was incomplete, yes, but all the renders and story were still made by HotTomato. Personally, I think it's really satisfying how much the MC has grown and the payoff is so damn nice.

We wait for him to return, hopefully. Meanwhile I keep working on my project. When I finish my first novel, and if I've seen enough people wanting at least a short ending for DMS, then I make something for the true fans. It wouldn't be anything official, and I couldn't hope to match his craft because I only have ideas and snippets of our conversations (with no clear roadmap), and my rendering style is different. I just know that I would add lots of steamy fan service to conclude the sexual acts of the trio, and then for the actual story itself, I have some ideas for an open ending...

Considering that recently some old developers have resumed abandoned games, nothing is impossible...

of course it's a shame that he disappeared without asking or explanation, but let's hope he's okay and will return!

I'm not keen of seeing someone else continuing a project that the orignal dev abandoned and didn't give his consent. As sad as it is, just let it go and let's mourn this project. It's not the first time this happens, and won't be the last. I still hope for his return to finish it, but I'm not delusional.

Wow that's quite the interesting question... Idk what to think abt but Ig I'd lean more toward the I don't rly care option. If the guy rly abandoned the project. I couldn't care less. Especially if the guy who retakes it has what it takes. Good writing, good rendering, a steady pace... I think I'd be more cool with it if he did it a bit like some serious parody of the big franchise do. Change names, change sprites a bit and that's it. Ofc, he'd adapt the story and add the things he think could have been added to make the game better (overall make the story his). SO that if the dev ever comes back (even if there's 0.0000001% he actually does) it wouldn't be the same game. And I could enjoy both

Like you said project are being abandoned every now and then. I honestly wouldn't mind if a team of dev/s decided to do this for abandoned projects, not just abandoned project now that I think abt it, could be kinetic novels that offer only one path but have a pretty good story. You always wonder what if in them. Could be the femdom only games (oh man how many of them have goat tier settings for a good revenge/role reversal path but devs aren't turned on by that), maledom only games... The possibilities are infinite. Ofc all of this would be done in a parody-like manner.

And b4 anyone start criticizing me, this is a piracy site...
