Still have some save, apparently, too.
But with the newest version, when I try starting it, it immediately closes again, leaving no meaningful logs.
Did something meaningful change, or should I look towards system settings or smth?

So you're willing to spend time asking this, then waiting for answer, then possibly tampering with game code or system settings to fix this grand issue of losing your 20minute playthrough save from who knows how long ago?

Start new save or use the checkpoints or whatever they are called (you jump ahead in story timeline you last experienced). And yes game has made many changes that both require you to start new save and also content is different in some parts.

No, I'm stating that I did play the game in the past and have a save to prove I could, in fact, start it.
I'm not trying to load an old save, I don't even reach the main menu.
The only reason I'm sure the game does actually start is because I can see it in the task manager for a few seconds (and occasionally a black screen for a fraction of a second.
I am quite able to read patch notes.

My bad, I thought it closes as you load old save. If game doesn't start it's probably because it has newer Renpy engine that does not support your system. Are you on 32bit or on older OS? That might be it. If not you should join games discord and talk to dev.

enjoyed the game (whats there so far that is) but like I gotta wonder like why does everything seem so melancholy in this game? Like it feels like any of the characters are 2 seconds away from walking into oncoming traffic. I think it's mostly their resting expressions they all seem not sad but more done with it all. Everyone has this half-lidded expressions that give off intense I'm incredibly detached from the moment vibes

The current characters and story are just the intro. The game is eventually going to move entirely into some kind of "isekai" / otherworld, which would be the main part of the game.

So when reading the roadmap about "aim at body parts and shoot", i thought this was some euphemistic joke about cumshot choices for sex scenes.

But no, the dev is actually serious. He wants to make some sci-fi-fantasy RPG from this. That's why you have the inventory and all that stuff.

You must not steal the condoms nor the lube during freeroam

Then you need to take your GFs call, and choose the "only use one earplug and hear my surroundings" option when/if it appears. Then investigate the noise.

Seems to be working on it, I don't have access but posted devlog #3 on the 27th of October. Usually there is 4 devlogs, so I'm guessing we're about 3/4 through the development cycle. Probably a month and a bit to go.
