Oh, got it! Thanks! I'm still doing story.
You think there's any point delaying after you get the quest done?
Just get the reward and move on? o: hmm.
You can get more women pregnant, acquire more gold with the extra time. That way your army becomes a lot stronger. I had saved up a shit ton of money and made a lot of super strong babies to the point where I didn't even need to do anything during the war. I literally sat on my ass and only fought the bosses, and I didn't even have to fight all of them xD. You'll see how your army improves by checking the army screen. The text there changes depending on what you do. (Pro tip: Rob the Cathedral whenever they refill it)

not a very great erotic game, but as a strategy game its quite a good play. i like the way the dragons develop, adding something new each generation, and pursuing greater and greater riches. but the porn is still disappointing

Am I really missing all that much if I choose to play the English version (1.0.1) instead of the machine translated version (1.4.1)? Because the machine translated version's painful to read.

That's it?
I don't know about anything else man xD the original game bored me into downloading the machine translation.

Ps: Someone is trying to translate the machine translation. I downloaded that before playing.

It's literally on the front page of this post. Just start your search from there.
All I see is the fully translated 1.0.1, and the machine translated 1.4.1.

I'm a blind idiot, nevermind. Found the link under the spoiler tab.

Looks like the last update for the translation was from 2017. Is there anything more recent then that?

Just found a more recent translation from October of last year on LoversLab.

Nevermind, couldn't get the translation to work.

I can't get any version of the translation to work on any version of the game! When I drag and drop them into the main game files, it ends up breaking the damn game! I can't even get past the start menu! Try to start a new game? Button doesn't even work! Try to start a free play game? I get an error message!

If you guys can get these translation patches to work, please tell me how, because I'm stumped!

Here's the error message:

Hopefully the last edit: Just had to reset story and free play progress in the settings menu and that seemed to have fixed things.

For those wondering about the differences between original and 1.0.1 and 1.4.1, from what I've seen so far after few hours:

* If memory serves, 1.0.1 didn't allow save-scumming, which 1.4.1 does. Considering the amount of RNG the battles have this is a good change IMHO. Especially if you want to go for all the "specific kind of dragon" achievements: since new generation bonuses are generated randomly your "get giant dragon" (for example) run can be ruined by missing just one size-bonus, requiring an entirely new run at the very end of the "campaign".

* Witch quest line. Only one quest so far in 1.4.1. The first quest needs to be finished to get access to smuggler's den. The wich herself is not a new feature: she still has her old functionality of exchanging your seed for one year for 1 point of magic or minor amount of gold.

* A small mini-game for violating women: each victim now has both a social standing and a personality. They can be Proud, Bashful or Horny, which essentially translates to how much they will fight back. If the victim is not beaten into submission and they have enough strength to fight back (mostly as small dragon or vs giants) the dragon will eventually get angry and either cripple or kill the victim, regardless of what they player would want to do. This mini-game can be avoided by bringing the victim to lair and having guards (human-sized victims) or elite guards (giants) to pin the victim down. The downside here is that this change further punishes you for playing as small dragon, which was already hard IMHO.

* You now need both guards and servants at the same time to hold captives. If you have no guards, the servants scatter "for safety". If you have no servants, the guards scatter "because of lack of food" while you sleep. This then leads to captives either escaping or dying of hunger.

* Tons of random, mostly non-interactive stories about the fates of the dragon's victims. To avoid spoilers, let's just summarize that every social standing and personality type has numerous different possible fates, both positive and (mostly) negative ones.

* Chance for "lower tier" spawns almost negated. Even as a small dragon I've yet to see the weakest human spawn happen. With giants I've only seen one (new?) "weak" spawn (Chimera) due to "lack of potency".

* Mini-stories, both out in the world and with captives.

* More persistent effects. If you rampage wantonly on one dragon, the effects stay, at least for a while rather than the entire world fully resetting after each dragon generation. Destroying villages wantonly can lead to temporary lack of villages/towns to rob. Robbing cathedral leaves it devastated until renovated after a few years. As the realm is more and more ravaged the people turn to desperate measures, opening up new enemies to face.

1.4.1 also added a lot to the endgame and fleshed out knights trying to rescue captives. It also fixed most of the things I fixed in BoneyMod, and the ones left over are minor enough that I haven't bothered to do a BoneyMod for 1.4.1.

Manual rape via the aforementioned minigame always results in the best possible spawn, as well as not reducing your dragon's horniness level. Using your guards follows the old system, where it's based on your dragon's max mana. IIRC it's 1 point of magic for human girls, 2 for elves, and 3 for titans.

Devastation was technically in the base game, but it faded faster, wasn't that good at preventing military build-up, and didn't unlock any new events, so it was easy to ignore and preferable to avoid. In 1.4.1, high devastation unlocks events where you can increase devastation further, get a compliant peasant girl, and sneak up on and capture an elf trying to help.

Right you are. The magic points seem to be correct. Actually kind of wish there was inverse of the potency spell - in my first playthrough of the 1.4.1 I completely missed many monster types (aristocrat weak spawn I think?) completely because I often opt to get Magic early on. Think I still haven't seen what the weak elf spawn is. Guessing I missed most of the weak giant spawns because I only used elite guard very late in to the game since actually impregnating them was such a hassle with my lack of abilities to beat them into submission with.

Devastation was technically in the base game, but it faded faster, wasn't that good at preventing military build-up, and didn't unlock any new events, so it was easy to ignore and preferable to avoid. Huh. I played the original 1.0.1 quite a bit when I originally found it and it felt that the world just completely reset every generation, with zero persistence. The devastation also never seemed to have any real effect so it might just be that I simply never invested heavily enough on it before. Now it seems that netting enough devastation can actually ruin the kingdom to the point that mobilization doesn't rise at all.

Another thing to add to the list of new features I didn't mention (that has been mentioned before in this thread) are the 5 "champions of the realm" and the demon worshippers:

* Angels - random hostile spawn with high enough mobilization I believe?

* Adamantium Golem - dwarven construct, can be found in the mountains, guarding the front gate of dwarven fortress (possibly some mines?). Easiest to find in theory since it requires nothing (AFAIK) to encounter, but in practice seems to be very elusive encounter. Requires that dwarf fortress is currently established.

* Kraken - from what I've read this requires underwater base and letting some girls escape to get a chance to fight it. Edit: Apparently the Kraken is a different thing entirely. The champion is a Triton that can be found as a low-chance encounter in the sea. Either natural or magical water breathing is required to search the sea.

* Titans - giant in the cloud castle in the sky. Easiest champion to find, since it only requires flight and seems to be decently common encounter.

* Sacred tree - requires beating elf guards in the forest and interrogating the Location of the elven grove from them. After that a point of magic is required to penetrate its defensive spells. In the grove you can choose to desecrate the tree after beating its guardian.

With high enough devastation you start to see encounters with demon worshippers trying to summon demons to fight the dragon. From what I've gathered in the thread after you beat all five of the champions at least once and increase devastation and despair high enough, eventually the demon worshippers manage to summon a demonic "mini-boss" that you can fight. Edit: Well, turns out "mini-boss" is quite the understatement. Large size, multiple resistances (magic/colored heads) and attack types (magic/colored heads) highly recommended if you want to see the event to its full conclusion.
