Whenever stuff like this happens, all I can think of is that there's someone among the helpers who are hungry to be the 'bigger helper' to Vrelnir. After all, if you have a 'manager' that is well liked by the 'owner' enough that you can't see any foreseeable way of taking the 'manager's' place, character assassination is certainly one way of doing it. I'd certainly be wary of any of the current or future helpers that suddenly approach Vrelnir and be all like 'sorry about Purity, heard what happened but here are my contributions', especially if they were known to clash with Purity.

Or perhaps they're just one of the bandwagoners of the current social media anxiety wave, who are constantly acting like a DoL Fallen Angel with high Trauma, constantly cursing the world. The most ironic thing about those sort of people is that those very people in the future, if it's found that they did online witchhunts like that, would also be the ones who would shout "I'm not like that anymore!" the loudest, especially when the same thing happens to them.

I'm aware that Vrel right now isn't doing much, especially after what happened with SS. And I can see from the Github commits that it's been mostly Purity making the commits. It's certainly easy enough to complain and make 'suggestions', even if unwelcome, as someone who only plays and consume content and do nothing else. My previous wall of texts here are definitely those sort of stuff, so I know.

However, it's rather short-sighted to seek to remove someone from doing work for DoL when they have no one among their crowd to step up in their place. Sounds just like petty office politics where the loud squawking chicks complain and then have their 'mother bird' team leader (not you, my gigantic tittied harpy wife) who actually manages to get things done removed, only to then kind of sit there after 'expecting good things from now' until they starve or just move on because 'game stopped getting content'. But well, that's just perhaps just jaded real life things approaching internet things too much.

I guess that sense of accomplishment from trying to destroy someone's real life over things in a game felt that good for them? Not something they'd want to be hidden later in life, I hope. After all, a doxxer is a doxxer for life, no?

Maybe we'll see another update in six months...maybe not. I wouldn't come back if I were purityguy - it's hard for me to even believe that anyone involved in this project would ever reveal their real identity to the community, much less the current lead developer. And once it spills over into people doxxing you and trying to get you fired from your real life job... Yeah, no: get out and don't come back, for your own good. If the community doesn't want you, they are welcome to find a trusted and talented replacement: I'm sure they grow on trees.

I don't care for some recent additions (Gwylyn was a bit too 'creator's pet' for me despite loving Syd), but it's crazy to see him be thrown to the wolves by Vrelnir when Vrel himself has a more than shady past in regards to how he got his start.

Seems like a lot of bad blood now so I wouldn't be surprised if Purity never comes back. He's said some stuff I don't agree with, but he was a decent manager for the most part and contributed a lot when the game was experiencing a lull. Really seems like a case of biting the hand that feeds you.

I read the blog post really quick and I don't have any more context than that, I think people really need to stop being offended over such stupid shit, and frankly I believe people who virtue signal all the time over such things probably have far more skeletons in their own closets that they are trying to deflect from and prove to themselves as much as others that they are a "good" person, and I find it highly suspect.

Which is why pretty much ever since I stopped being a child I have despised self righteous probably more than any other character flaw. Because it usually suggests that a person is all around a rotten and awful person and are trying to get eyes away from their own sins, or "make up" for being a bad person in the past- while not ever having actually become a better person.

Like they seem to think if they sacrifice another supposedly awful person and ruin their life that it will make their own awfulness a okay.

In summary-fuck online drama and those who start it. People should either seek therapy, go find Jesus, or any other better way to deal with their emotional/ mental issues or just ignore them and stop trying to make things worse for everyone else.

Very unfortunate. This kind of thing is why I never join any discord communities, discord seems to attract the most unhinged parasocial morons and always seems like a net negative in the long run. If I was a dev, I definitly wouldnt want to be part of a discord community about my game lol. At some point, the people on there always seems to turn against you. Way easier to just interact with your fans from time to time on sites like this one, or maybe a subreddit.
I hope they just shut down the discord and keep doing what they were doing before, developing a great game.

The discord server for this game is so fucking stupid, why is virtue warfare and 5 page over-explained apologies so prevalent around an erotic game about rape and sex trafficking? To be completely fair, no one did care about the fact that onions and tomatoes and other stuff weren't available at the Supermarket, and certain fruit like Bananas were only available from the Markets and you had to steal Oranges from a specific Danube Mansion skullduggery event to get any at all. Or that most dairy products as well as Truffles, Plums and Peaches came from Alex's Farm, with the latter ones after doing the Woodlands upgrade. Even when there were 'gifting food' Feats to get, some of the LIs had multiple favourite food to choose from and you only had to do it once for the Feat, so for most it was a 'do it once and done' kind of deal, especially since there is no 'daily Love decay' for acknowledged LIs that make it necessary to gift them stuff regularly. Vegetables and related crops prior to Housekeeping (and thus the whole notion of cooking anything at all in DoL) was instead more a means to make money, either via setting up your own stall at the Market or bulk selling at at the Factory.

It only became a 'problem' when Avery's Mansion came along and players who went along with them ended up needing to feed them every day. That said, I never liked Avery and even now haven't gone along with them enough to wholeheartedly go along with their demands (always only followed to screw them over with the Brown Fox's Tasks). I kind of wish I can 'dismiss' them properly after all that still.

Its not even a problem for the mansion either since you can get Avery to stock up a few ingredients for you if you dont have them, which includes onions I assume.

So, from what I understand, PurityGay said some racist jokes like 2-4 years ago, and some fucker decided to doxx him for that?
