I’ve been reviewing archived developer logs from 2018, and there’s a clear disconnect between Degrees of Lewdity’s original design and
how it’s presented today.

• When users asked to remove lines calling the PC a “little boy/girl,” Vrelnir replied: “Is this really that bad? I like the degradation aspect.” (

Yet today, official spaces ban anyone who mentions this history and insist the PC has “always been 18+”, even though the PC lives in an orphanage, attends school with children, and unused strings referencing childhood remain in the code.

Why is this history being erased? New players deserve transparency about what the game was built on.

So whats the plan from here? I certainly hope it doesn't mean development ceases. It seems pretty weird for Subscribestar since they were supposed to be a less censorious alternative to Patreon.

I wish I knew why SubscribeStar no longer seem to want DoL on their platform. Regardless, I have enough saved that I won't immediately starve, and I plan to continue development for as long as I can.

CI-En from DLsite is also a good option. They offer a subscription based funding that doesn't require a credit card, since they let you pay using points

It seems like no platform on earth has the fucking sense to accept that fiction is fiction and reality is reality. Which largely seems to be based on power hungry idiots trying to tell everyone else how they are allowed to live. I despise how the world is behaving anymore.

I'd say it's less so a life sim if you think of them as cozy, more of a survival rape sim with a LOT of other kinks in it. You can customize them to turn off any you dislike in the advanced settings before starting a run(like I personally turn off the ear slime/parasitic pregnancy stuff), but at it's heart this game is hardcore kink central. Even most of the main 'romances' can rape your MC.

The Angel TF annoys me to no end. The entire falling/virgintiy mechanic is just stupid.

If you lose vaginal or penile virgintiy (doesn't matter how - loving sex with your girlfriend or rape) you fall. Anal sex is ok for some bizazre reason.
I really wish it could be adjusted in game setting, since it's a really simple process - add 3 varaibles to the game settings (vaginalv_fall, penilev_fall, analkv_fall) and add a "&&" to the 3 virginity functions/widgets.
I just edit the html directly, because F*** the current system.

There is a setting to enable unsupported LI pregnancies but since there's no content for them currently, there will be no acknowledgement that you had a baby with that LI from anyone.

To add, I can provide a quick tutorial/file to show what to edit if anyone wants. 1 minute job and you can customize what (if anything) you want to cause falling.

The nympho buttslut posing as an angel is my favorite playstyle, protecting your virginity gives some additional challenge/tension. And it's hot.

The author was probably inspired by the hentai JRPG genre, in which the "virgin run" is quite a common trope. But, since DoL is a sandbox without endings, angel TF is like your consolation prize for doing that.

You cannot choose to play as a mage class and then go wear heavy armor and start wacking NPC with a 2 handed hammer.

Actually, depending on the game, you can.
But if you want a better comparison, imagine a action-heavy CRPG game in which you cna select a class that isn't allowed to fight.

Except the angel TF does allow you to have sex and the anal 'exception' is part of that? You can have quite a lot of sex actually if you know how to manage your purity.
