I've kind of moved past the whole live-service RPG and shooter game phase, Patreon stuff included.
Nowadays, I just drop by these threads for fun to see what’s going on in terms of progress.
That said, after a long 4 years break i've started modding FO4 roughly 4 months ago.
And mod I did, roughly 900 individual mods is pretty much the only thing keeping me entertained right now.
I'v had been avoiding it because I knew the
PAIN of going through
troubleshooting (modding since 2012).
What makes it special? Well, imagine huge, chaotic firefights where you’re not just up against a couple of enemies. We're talking 20+ NPCs and creatures, all spread across a massive 300-meter radius. Picture yourself on top of a skyscraper, engaging multiple enemy groups down on the streets below. The best part? If the enemies can get to you, they WILL. I’ve even had enemies track me all the way into a supposedly "safe" spot while I was in the middle of repairing my gear for five whole minutes, killing me in an ambush.
And then there’s the combat, headshots are deadly, damage is brutal, and when you’re rocking tanky power armor, every victory feels earned. Explosives and high calibre weapons can still kill you with one shot sometimes.

I personally find this more rewarding than the complex health and organ systems like in Delta Zone.
On the other side of things, the modding community’s brought some... darker mods into the mix. We're talking about everything from sex and slavery mods to detailed facegen and body mods that actually look pretty decent (if that's your thing). It’s a whole different experience, and the level of customization is unreal.
Performance-wise, Fallout 4's running better than Delta Zone. There's even a custom DLSS mod now, so its looking up. One of the things I’ve really enjoyed is creating an entire settlement filled with enslaved NPCs from the story, it's kinda dark, but it adds a crazy layer of immersion to the game.
I get it, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. But honestly, I don’t think any other game, especially one made by a random porn developer, will ever match the level of features and customization I have in Fallout 4. It’s tailored to exactly what I want, and no game out there does it like this.
Skyrim has become an engine for modders, you can do soo much in this.
Sure, it took a lot of time, probably over 200 hours spent just modding the game and troubleshooting, but I got enjoyable results.
Meanwhile Delta Zone's developer couldn't come close to this, yet many people pay him instead of modding Fallout 4 themselves.
