And they built off the (sill unfinished) previous game they were working on before whatever the hell happened that split the dev team, so it's not like they're starting from 0 as a first time dev.
We can talk about industry standards all we like, but they just don't apply here. Maybe it's not fair, but neither is accepting 14k a month for years, however low you may feel that is, and only having a couple of hours worth of content to show for it. Where they are in development is where I'd expect a new project to get to in a year if I'm being super generous.

It's true development is painfully slow on this game. But there's 2 problems with the way people here rage about patreon incomes of "lazy devs":
1. As another user explained, 14k a month split across a team of devs is just not much money at all. For obvious reasons a lot of users on this site are teens/young adults with no or little experience in the real world paying bills and what it costs to make things, so 14k a month would seem like a fortune to them. 14k a month (or 170k a year) might be a good amount for a patreon project sure, but that is literally pennies for the development of a game made by a team. In a professional studio that would be the yearly salary of like 1 lead dev or a manager, much less an entire team of people. So the people behind many of these projects that people think are raking in a killing on patreon are likely actually working other jobs and can still only afford to work on the game part time.
2. If the devs are working painfully slowly and people are still choosing to support them on crowdfunding sites, there is nothing unfair about that. The progress is transparent, everyone giving them money can see how much has been added or not to each new build, and they know exactly how long it took for that build to come out. Where on earth is the unfairness here? Nobody is being forced to give their money to the devs or being deceived by lies or deception. To say it's "paycheck stealing from horny-hopefuls" is really just a delusion, one that's very popular on this site, that basically contains the assumption that "we here are smart, capable people, easily able to see with our own eyes how slow or fast development on this game is going, but those other people on patreon are obviously just brainwashed sheeple who swallow anything the dev says without critical thought and can't do basic time calculations to see how they're being used!"
To think these devs are taking advantage of cash-loaded helpless retards who can't see what people here can is a nice, self-flattering thought. But if you actually think about it it's clearly ridiculous, and the truth is for the vast majority of people paying the devs on these projects that drag on for years is that they're either happy enough with progress to continue supporting them (or they forgot about their subscription payment which would definitely be some of the users on crowdfunding sites, but even so that's their own fault for not paying attention and ending their payment that they contractually agreed to pay)
Obviously if the devs were deliberately deceiving people about the progress that would be different, and it would be fraud. But that is incredibly rare for these sorts of game projects, because how do you deceive people about what's in a build they can play and test themselves? That sort of thing takes place more when people crowdfund a promised project that doesn't release progress demos, like board games, hardware devices etc

yeah i know, i been following this for a few years and back then it was only version 0.3. were what in 2025? and its still only a proto, i think this game won't even get to the post prologue part for another 5 or 6 years realistically, maybe more with how ambitious the actual gameplay is suppose to be, since the prologue is just that, the prologue.I'd bet not much if any at all. There's no incest, and when you cheat or select to play the open world, the story starts with you living in the homeless shelter and doing chores to earn money and points which points me to think you won't be home for much longer after the 7 days prologue is over.
On other note, it's surprising to see how much these devs lag behind with the game. My Lust Wish was sold to someone else who are drowning that game while it's been more than half a decade and only 4 days of the game is out.
Comparatively, Monolith Bay was also made in unreal engine, is open world with slight character customisation has been completed and released already.
Then there are some 1000IQ saying 14k a month isn't enough for a game dev or two when working at apple as normal dev was ~4k USD a month before taxes and that was for the chips in phones! If 3.5x the monthly income of an IC engineer who worked on their chips isn't enough, idk what is. It should fund 5 devs if just WFH and this game is the sole focus.
Seems to be a lot common among eastern european devs, sadly. Stoneshard has been in development for 7-8 years IIRC and it's probably still gonna take a while to be finished(they haven't even delivered key features promised on day 1 like character creation).I'll be honest, there isn't a single team in the world who would not get fired if they were payed 400k and only managed to make a shitty prototype

Sure it may be a lot more for them than an American, that's true. The point still stands though that this patreon income many here seem to think is outrageous sums of money for game development is, by any reasonable standard, a modest amount of funding.Anyway, wages vary from country to country. Ukrainian programmers for instance work for way less than say americans - 14k dollars have a much higher value to them if you take into account living costs and average salary.
The promise of earning more in the future when the game is released does not pay the bills now. Devs, even if they're indie and it's their own project, need money to live on now while they work on the game, just like anyone else. This is why indie game devs who don't want to crowdfund or before crowdfunding was a thing have to go to venture capitalists and other investors to get funding to allow them to make the game. No liveable income while they make the game means having to do another job means no time to work on the game.Also bear in mind they're not being paid for a finished product. They're being paid to develop it. There's a difference and they will earn more money once they release it on steam or other platforms.
You can't expect them to be earning a shitload of money for developing something if not even teams on medium/big studios do - as a matter of fact, most programmers in a big studio team don't actually own the games they create and don't receive a share of the profits. That's obviously not the case here as they're most likely a small group of indie devs and each one of them actually own the game.

I don't have that dialogue. The dialogue just end after Macy says don't use it.I remember there was a Fool Dialogue somewhere when Macy says don't use it after it ends you get two Responds. Alisia says, "What Doesn't kill you makes you stronger." FOOLISH increases. I always pick that one. The Quest is Completed and Ends with Gloor Inhaler and Red Toilet Vital in my inventory.
