Unluckily, no news. Seems to have dropped off the radar. His subscribestar account is in vacation mode since last summer and no communication has arrived here.

Yes, for HTML game. I suppose you also need to learn Javascript programming.
The other very popular game engine for AVN is Ren'py. Here you need to learn Python programming.
