I mean in all fairness to the ending

That all said, I'm really wondering about several connections between King's Exit and this game.

If anyone is a lore expert, I'd love to know what the deal is. I also plan to play King's Exit next.

Also,

I finished the game yesterday, shortly before writing that post. It's seldom that a game really hits me in my feelings, but that was probably the saddest I've felt in a very long time. I'm looking at my actual Steam library and can't see anything that made me feel this strongly. Yakuza LAD? No. Persona 4? No. Omori? No. Sakuna of rice and ruin? No. Spec ops the line? No. The dozen quirky indie rpgmaker games or other jrpgs in my library? No. None of these games come close, and several of them got me to tear up. This has to be one of the best stories in any game I've ever experienced. I'm saying this despite gripes I have with it.

The ending... yeah, I see why people dislike it. Calling it bittersweet is accurate in my opinion. More bitter than sweet, but...

When I saw how many people were saying "Fuck that ending!" and "The ending ruined the game for me!" I was bracing myself for something so, soooooo much worse. Also, seriously, if there are any lore experts browsing this thread later, please tell me

All in all, this was a really good game. As an actual jrpg it was pretty challenging with some fun boss fights and a nice amount of content. The story and characters were phenomenal despite my gripes with certain story beats and other things. Despite all of the flaws and issues I have to give it a 10/10. I love this game.

Exit King now has a fairly ok edited mtl I found on another site. The only issue I have found is for one character they call them king instead of queen once or twice but all in all everything was super easy to understand and seems pretty solid to my idiot eyes. I am at the end now this shit is killing me after just having finished demon roots (sadness man!)

For those who want to do ng+ stuff without spending 5 hours playing the first half again, here's a save just after Lily joins you permanently. Should have pretty much all the equipment you need.

You can do ng+ without playing again as long as you save before the point of no return. Is different from King Exit which only acknowledged the save file instead of the global save file.
The ng+ dungeon gives you all the party members except for Mebius for plot reasons and you can access it whenever you want between the prologue and the point of no return.
I did the ng+ things with three saves. One save with a proper ng+ to do the ng+ dungoen because that boss is hard, the second save was just before the final battle to do his ng+ challenge version (I wasn't going to do the entire game again just to fight 1 boss) and the third save was the one before the point of no return in order to visit the devs cottage in the monkey land.
The boss in the ng+ dungeon is quite hard if you don't have some of the equipment in the final dungon, specifically the cape that gives huge light resistance.
The challenge version of the final boss can be defeated without the ng+ stuff, he is not that hard although you need to use some of those full revive crystals.

The only part I touched of the bad end is

. I am not into gore nor ryona. Also, this is one of the few games I actually want the girls to be happy. It's not like a Tsukinomizu game in which rape is just another tuesday.

Made full english guide on steam if someone is interested in it:

Also here are 100% completed NG+ and NG++ save files:

Save file 1) NG++ start - right after I beat the empowered version of boss with save file below.
Save file 2) NG+ near powered up final boss

OTHER FILES WILL REPLACE YOUR CURRENT ACHIEVEMENTS AND SUCH.

NG++ one has a start with essentially all important items gathered across 2 runs. Also all achievements are completed.

Perfect for both reexperiencing the game with ease and all content available or simply watching full gallery :)
awesome guide with spoiler-free, thanks so much
