Ren'Py - Completed - Denos City [Final] [BackHole]

I enjoyed this title. The story was interesting enough and it tried to introduce an actual plot. The women were attractive and all had their own personalities, features, and progressions. The game elements themselves were simple and didn't get in the way of a good time.

This is a pretty good game. The overall plot is interesting and I felt compelled to see it play it out. It's not perfect by any means, and I'll get to why later, but I liked it for the most part. The characters are nothing special in terms of personality, but hey at least they're hot and fulfill a variety of kinks. On top of that, there are a lot of sex scenes with a lot of women, and a lot of them are animated. The renders in general are very well done. A lot of the sex in this game involves maledom. I'm personally not big on this, but it isn't anything too brolic. I would even go so far as to say that it's pretty tame, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the developer didn't add a gallery, so you're going to need to make lots of saves (more than Renpy allows) if you want to rewatch the scenes.

Now onto what I didn't like. The writing is kinda weird. This game is divided into acts and act 1 is rushed to hell. Everyone immediately falls in love with you, which is just ridiculous. But once you get past the rushed setup, the story gets much better. It almost felt like someone else wrote the rest of the plot. Also, the grammar seems to be machine translated. Thankfully, I'm pretty sure the original language is Spanish, which is pretty easy to translate to English, so it's not too bad, but some parts of the dialogue do get rough. A proofreader/editor would've been nice.

A few of the characters' "routes" were also quite poor. For example, Evelyn's route is pretty forced and cringeworthy and I felt that the game would've been better without her in it. It's like the developer had a plan and included her initially, but then couldn't fit her into the story, so they decided to pull something out of their ass to get the sex scenes in. There is also another girl who exists in the beginning of the game, but her route gets completely dropped and she becomes a nonfactor. Why is she still in the game?

This game uses a sandbox system but it's completely unnecessary. It works initially because you have to discover/meet the characters and then interact with them a bit to increase their stats and unlock a few interactions, but then the whole system gets abandoned soon after. The MC will have an inner monologue after every scene where he says where to go next. And then you have to go back to the map screen and click that location for the next scene, which just wastes time. Again, this feels like the developer had an initial plan, but decided to go in a different direction, yet instead of removing these extraneous elements, they just left them all in. There are also plenty of interactable objects that will say "COMING SOON" once you click on them, which is a lie. The game definitely needed a lot of cleaning up.

Aside from these problems, I did enjoy my time playing this game and seeing the story unfold for the most part. There are choices in this game, as you can be good or bad, and I found the good ending to be satisfying. I usually don't play as a bad guy so I didn't bother to roll back and play through that route, so I can't speak on it. But I liked what I played and so I recommend playing this game.

The game has some good point, here and there, but it has also tons of problems on script level. First of all, it promises sandbox and time based events, but there is barely anything of this, you mostly follow the story straight, with near to none agency. The game's memory of your choices is so messed up that, after a while characters behave in a totally incoherent way with what happened before and mention events that didn't happen at all. It is supposed to be completed, but it's more like abandoned, since some plot is left at its middle and clicking in some key point it says that more content will be available in next releases. Completed my ass.

I quite enjoyed the game. Most characters are pretty hot, although some look somewhat deformed. But I still think that this is a solid 4, because it has an interesting and original story and the dev has almost no support.
The only thing keeping it from a 5 star is that there are some obvious bugs, a confuse hint system that break the experience and some characters that are very deformed.

Mostly nice renders , except for a few things like Nath's breasts, looked a bit weird to me, and her friend's alien-ish body shape. Doria and Bella were great though.

Decent story, if we doesn't count the few typos, mislabeled dialogue, and some bits that were not translated from Spanish, and the rushed ending.

Animations weren't so bad, but there's a room for improvement there for sure.

Mostly a great effort, looking forward to the dev's next project.

Overall I was a little disappointed with the game.

at the beginning i was definitely positively surprised, i didn't expect so many "meaty" animations and so many different scenarios, in a strongly linear game anyway. it follows fantasies only in the sense of domination, but it's ok and it's quite varied. the only really aesthetically awkward character is Cassie... an alien with tits

and also the grinding part is really limited to the very first days (and for this i would say completely useless.... all the effort is to get 5 trust points with Dora, then they are practically useless anymore....)

but going forward as the quality of the renders improved it seemed obvious to me that there was a rush to close, and the quality of the animations seemed to drop as well.

interesting the different final paths, but they deserved to be "celebrated" more.

it's a 3 star game that was very close to getting 4 stars

I'm about 75% through this story and have been enjoying it a lot. I love how the models look different (not near clones with simply a different hair color/style), especially Doira as the granny milf, which I cannot remember seeing in any of the 100+ games/VNs I've tried.

Not much if any humor. A fairly linear story, but a bit more complex story than most and is written well. I like having to combine items to accomplish tasks, which just adds to the story.

Plenty of lewd scenes. No scene replay functionality in the UI, so just save the scenes for later playback. The walkthrough makes it super easy, though the MCs phone with quest system and hits is easy enough without breaking immersion.

OVERALL: Very enjoyable and worth revisiting once the story isn't as fresh in my mind.

This is a solid game. The renders are decent. The mom and youngest daughter are the best characters. I really appreciate that the mom, who is an older woman, looks like an older woman. Her body may have been a little too perfect for her age, but her face was done to perfection.

It is a sandbox game, but isn't grindy at all and ends up not even really having a need for any of the sandbox features. This is my favorite kind of sandbox, one that doesn't really feel like one. So don't let the fact that is is a sandbox put you off on this game.

There are some nice kinks in the game. I'm always wishing for more perverse kinks, but it actually did hit a couple of them for me. One of which was the aftermath of having sex with the oldest sister in the bathroom at the bar. I won't spoil it, but those of you who have played it, know what I'm talking about.

The only real sour part of this game is that the dev rushed the ending. It could have been drawn out longer allowing you to do more interesting things with all the LIs. All in all, this was a good game worth the time spent playing it.

Having now completed the game, I find myself conflicted in rating it. There are a lot of good things going on here, and a lot of bad things too. In the end I think the former slightly outweight the latter.

Good:
- Distinct and for the most part attractive renders.
- Animations aren't spectacular, but they are solid, which is a cut above most games.
- Grind aspect is relatively minor, which is always refreshing in a sandbox game.
- Those who enjoy the mdom kink (as I do) will find a lot to enjoy here. Is it realistic to real life that every woman who sees my penis immediately wants to be my cumslut? It sure isn't, but then I don't play these games to stay that true to real life...and none of the behavior is entirely immersion breaking. Especially within the mansion all the characters have a reason for behaving the way they do.

Bad:
- Events are not well coded in the sandbox. Sometimes I would get texts or calls from characters regarding events that were yet to occur. In the same vein, it would have been nice if the UI indicated where something interesting/important might be happening...as the 'tips' system was broken by ch 2.
- It's pretty clear the Dev started this game with a lot of ambition, and by chapter 3 had decided to do a quick wrap up instead. This shows in the character arcs it leaves dangling or that suddenly conclude at warp speed.
- Finally, the evil harem route, by far my favorite to play through, had a ridiculous blue ball ending, where your harem talks about a pool bbq that will be a lot of fun...and then the game cuts to an exit screen right before that. Not cool.


In the end, if the tags appeal, I would recommend giving Denos City a playthrough.... It's got plenty of hot scenes and an OK story. It's just a shame to see the potential within it never be realized....and a damn shame that the endings don't feature more group fun.

Overall, the game is quite nice.

I typically don't review, but felt like it so whatever. It seems like many people love this game and I'm happy for them, truth be told there are many things to like in it.

Renders:
There's a pretty good selection of sexy ladies here, (The milf Doira especially is an absolute babe, and Bella is great too), the renders aren't groundbreaking and there are a few wonky ones(Nath' chest in certain parts) but they're serviceable and quite pleasing, especially if you like a good butt. Sex scenes look ok, but often feel a little silted and rushed, but the models themselves are nice enough to look at, if I can give this game any great praise it's here.

The Story:
It's a shame, while mot the most original story, I rather liked the premise. A nice tale of revenge and facing one's past, mixed in with love, sex and danger. Unfortunately like may things in this game the story feels way too condensed and short for all it's potential. We go from slow buildup with brief flashbacks and hints of the MC's past in chapter 1 and 2, too massive exposition dumps in ch.3 cause the game's nearly over an we gotta answer these questions. It's obvious several side plots, and story details were glossed over or just straight up cut from the game, leaving a frankly barebones and rather hollow plot and structure.

The Mechanics:
But hey, while a good story enhances a game, that's not why most of us are here, and if the renders are good, we can take a lackluster story, but how is it as a game?...Well that depends alot on what you're looking for. This game has the sandbox tag and honestly as someone who loves sandbox type porn games, that does signal some red flags which I'll get to later. But to put if briefly this game is a rather poor sandbox game, their is little exploration, the game pretty much handholds you and tells you where to go and when, none of the variables amount to anything.In the tutorial the game warns you about money being scarce and not to waste it early, yet I was never once short on cash and had more than enough to busy the few items required for the game's completion(perhaps this serves as a warning not to buy useless items...which happen to be about 90%) of them. Now if you view it as a VN, then it's fine, honestly it gives up being open world after chapter 1 and is essential a linear vn with a map. If that's right up your alley the gameplay will likely satisfy you, it mostly pretty straightforward, no major bugs and you'll see all the sex scenes and get all the endings just by using some common sense.
The elephant in the room:
So what's my main beef with this game? Well quite frankly it's obviously a rush job. Rush job may be harsh but you can tell somewhere along the line this was meant to be a big semi-open sandbox games, with routes and variables and branching paths, maybe even more endings etc. But when you get to the last chapter there is such an obvious feel of "let's get this shit over with" like the dev just wants to wrap this up already. I didn't even notice this game until it was complete but I wasn't at all shocked to learn it's their first games and even less shocked to learn they hadn't exactly been raking it in on patreon. This is such a common thing I see from first-time devs, who come in with passion and ambition, then realize what they planned to do is either infeasible or requires much more time and money than what they have. I think alot of people are being kind cause it's a first attempt and cleary a lot was cut(like an entire plot line with Rona was straight up dropped) and a rushed ending is still better than those who justpeace out and quite I guess. Plus it's not like it's a bad ending, it ties up everything and is appropriate but feels like we skipped over so much interesting stuff to get there.

3/5 Honestly good renders and an ok story give it some points and considering it's a first attempt, I'm inclined to be kind on it. If the images look good to you, I'd say give it a play, it's not very long, just go in with the right mindset and don't worry too much about the details that clearly got left behind along the way.

I wanted to congratulate the developer for this game which is beautiful and very well done, in a nutshell a masterpiece ... Really great choice of women, well done animations, very intriguing story and stunning endings. I hoped it would never end but unfortunately even good things have an end, I really hope that the developer will produce another one because if it is like this it will surely be another masterpiece...

I didn't enjoy the writing. The story was cliché, a little lazy, and borderline offensive. Honestly I'm really a story-driven guy and personally I just can't get past poor/lazy writing.

The renders were fine. I think I recall some of the settings from other games but that's not unusual for a lot of these games.

Great Game ... Great story , with great ending ... The annimation were great and easy to follow. One of the best games with no stress for reloading and frequent updates kept the story going and now it is has come to an end ...GREAT STORY... If you have NOT played ,,than I recommend you play and you will truely enjoy it ... 5 star

The Dev didn't play around in this game and I love that, there was no stalling or delays just a good story being told here. Attractive models, no nonsense main character, plenty of sex and... Doira enough said. Hoping for the best in your next endeavor.

Contragulations the Dev. Really finished the game. The story and game play is nice and fun. There might be better visual effect and sound option. But over all it is well prepared the game.

This is right around a 2.5, painfully mediocre but bugs push it to 2.
First the story: it's fine, passable but nothing that kept my interest, very cliché. Speaking cliché so is the MC: typical hot guy that every woman on the planet wants to immediately have sex with. The dialogue and writing in general is, while not the worst I have ever seen, definitely subpar, we are talking constantly stuff like "look at his big phat cock, it hypnotizes me yummy so tasty"... renders and visuals are barely passable, some better than others but not very good.

Gameplay is weird. On the one hand you have the map and a "free choice what to do" type of clickfest, on the other hand everything seems to be on a timer, I kept getting messages from the game telling me "today is the last day to do X! do it today and btw the password is Y". .. I mean - why? that's so stupid. If you want a linear game experience then make it linear, and don't have choices. The way it is implemented is just plain lazy. Speaking of lazy so are the scenes which the dev didn't check if they even occur in the correct order, multiple times I noticed how something got managed that hadn't happened yet (example of the top of my head: daughter contacts me on phone thanking for ankle help, when we did not run yet! second example: mother tells how much Lucy has the hots for MC even though he hasn't met that character yet).
the boxing minigame is just terrible, it is super laggy/choppy and has buttons for block/kick/punch that don't react to user input at all but are rather entirely predetermined until your char lvl is grinded - why even have user input at all? just make it a scene where MC gets ass whopped instead of LAGgrind. Hint system doesn't work, all game my hint was to throw a stone in a corner (from an earlier scene) even though I long did that but hint never ever changed. game can "softlock" you if there was an event that is mandatory but you passed the timeslot (happened for me with the journalist which I skipped over because of another event).

I could go on and on but overall the game has basic potential but it is evident the dev himself didn't even bother to play himself even once, otherwise the multitude of glaring issues would have been obvious.

Review of Ch. 3.2

Renders: 3/5 Some look better than others, the quality is inconsistent.
Animations: 3/5 It has animations, yay but they are super short.
Sex Scenes: 3/5 There are a good amount but mostly with support characters, some of the scenes are very short and others poorly rendered.
Gameplay: 3/5 Open world, very task oriented, no real choices and grindy (not a fan, I prefer VN).
Cast: 3/5 The cast is varied, but the story forces you to engage with the Fugly old wife character in order to progress, some characters have better renders than others.
Story 3/5: The story plot is interesting, but the writing is poor at times and so are the dialogues.
Sound: 3/5 It has sound effects and music, but they are very poor and used in other games. Non-original content.

Conclusion: This game could be great, but it needs a lot more polish. It needs to be re-rendered, re-written and get some original soundbites. I don't think I'll be keeping tabs on its development, but good luck to BlackHole.
