A mad hatters approach to game design. If you try to please everybody, you might just end up pleasing nobody. Oh, and a whole lotto bugs. Not worth it as there are other games out there. It's abandonware, play it if you're bored but be prepared to be blue balled at some point. Can someone fully summarize the events of this game's development? Skimming the pages I'm still confused on what happened. I'd like an unbiased story on it, and if it's even worth playing.
- Incest - Family friendly doesn't mean Patreon friendly. The dev tried to maintain two different versions of the game but had a hard time not getting those mixed up in a buggy mess.
- Schoolgirls - School settings & Koikatsu go hand in hand however it's another thing the corporate overlords don't like unless they're the ones doing it.
- Vanilla/NTR - Like water thrown over hot oil in a skillet. Trying to appease both rarely is a good idea so when NTR was removed the dev lost a lot of early supporters.
- Bots - A thing with free polls is some script kiddies will try to make it seem like their side has more support then they really do. Yeah fanboys go to war constantly tugging on each of the dev's arms.
- Bugs - To say any of their initial releases wasn't bug ridden would be an outright stinking lie. After about a week or two after a new release was out it would be in a playable state after many bug reports. Sadly the dev didn't quite understand that testing their game before release would have made for a better end customer experience. Paying for early access for something that is broken doesn't sell all that well. Most just wanted a game that wasn't a buggy mess however as the months went on the dev still had problems understanding basic Ren'Py things like variable declarations, IF statements, or debugging tools.
- Chase two hares, catch none - If a dev has a hard time managing One game it's not a good idea to start other projects as chances are higher none of them will get done.
- Scope creep - This is a problem with many devs as they keep promising more than what they can ever possibly hope to deliver. New character designs might bring in fast cash however fans are expecting that those new characters would get content and sooner or later they are going to call in all those IOUs.
- Rein it in - At this point 20+ something characters, clashing fetishes, multiple projects, and a never ending fiesta of bugs made the dev rethink their strategy. Thus the remake which more often than not is an excuse to rehash old content with a slightly different coat of paint.
- Burnout - Fans weren't pleased for many reasons and after awhile the dev got tired of all the bitching. He left for the echo chambers of Discord/Patreon.
- Patreon - Remember that I mentioned Family friendly, Schoolgirls, and Patreon? Unsurprisingly he got kicked off Patreon which was his primary source of funding. Patreon also steals the funds they haven't paid out yet so an extra good swift kick to the nuts for any unfortunate dev that experiences that.
- Titanic - He tried moving to SubscribeStar but didn't get nearly the attention there. Could have been multiple reasons but needless to say the Captain went down with the ship.
