Maybe he has enough sense to know that the genre of game he's creating requires certain nods to genre conventions. People enjoyed the heck out of "Grey's Anatomy" despite it being a laughingstock among actual doctors. Half the stuff done in "House of Cards" would sink a politician's career. You think actual crime scene technicians and forensics experts think "CSI" is realistic, with its magically speedy and backlog-free DNA testing?Assuming you replied that way because you are one of the developers on the project or its just not that ironic. So why then if you worked 25 years like that why aren't you using that in the story. Or do you think all the audience is imbeciles and don't care?
Except most people don't actually notice. Entertainment has it's own requirements beyond factual accuracy. Historical films, science fiction, fantasy... even supposedly fact-driven genres like procedurals, they all skimp on the details in service of the story they're telling. Unless the inconsistencies break immersion, nobody will notice, or care half as much if they do. I'm a fan of historical films, and really hate the inaccuracies. But the movies I hate also tend to make money, so...Because we live in a universe were cause and effect are related a lot of stuff goes hand in hand.
You can't simply ignore those types of facts and expect everyone not to notice.
TV shows are a bad example. The average IQ is 100. And most TV shows are written and targeted just below that mark. The reason being its the demographic most libel to also fall sucker for TV ads. In short TV shows are written to hit audiences that will get the most money.Maybe he has enough sense to know that the genre of game he's creating requires certain nods to genre conventions. At some point, you're gonna have to suspend your disbelief and realize who the audience for this is. Did you come to play an adult "corruption" game, or a law firm simulator? This game is even fairly reasonable by "corruption" game standards.

And... you think PORN GAMES should be a better example? Furthermore, you're expecting a higher standard from the "corruption" sub-genre of porn games, where outlandish blackmail and unimaginably stupid protagonists are de rigeur? If I held adult games to the standard you're using I'd never be able to play a single one! It's hard enough as it is to find a game that puts this level of care in its premise.TV shows are a bad example. The average IQ is 100. What, you think the "book greats" are not above artistic embellishment? And again... you're expecting literary quality out of... adult games? This particular game is already a step above the average in story-telling and detail. If you're going to take this particular dump, there are far more egregious examples that could use the stink. If they weren't the writers they use would be more on the level of the book greats and not the junk we see on tv. TV isn't about quality its about money. My aunt was a program director for ABC.
Well if they authors targeted optimal demographics they should be a hell of a lot better.And... you think PORN GAMES should be a better example? Theres games aimed at female audiences, this isn't.Well if they authors targeted optimal demographics they should be a hell of a lot better.
Frankly, there is a large audience that is poorly catered to female. The LGBT community is catered to here more than the strait female unless she happens to be into the same thing a guy is.
You miss read it. Pretty much 100% backwards of what I said.Theres games aimed at female audiences, this isn't.
Women want different types of games and assuming men want exact same thing is incorrect. If you changed the game to appeal more to women, then fewer men would like it. What you consider a primary concern is a peripheral concern to others.
Actually I do.Do you people REALLY think he cares about story?
Well, he doesn't.
I used to crash biblechats, I spot a biblenerd dissing the pr0n instantly.
He probably just saw an uncovered nipple and frantically made tons of warding signs.
And who is the "optimal demographic"? The adult games with the largest reaches (like Big Brother before it was abandoned) were storytelling trash whose audience grew and grew because the author tried to cram as many fetishes as possible into the game, even as the story disintegrated into the many corners the dev has painted himself into. None of them are winning Pulitzers. The point of an adult game is not to "look at pictures", it is to get to imagined erotic scenarios with a degree of personal agency (or the illusion thereof). Your game does that, it doesn't matter if they forgot standards of HR and a few legal statutes. I've already come to accept that I'm in the minority in the standard I am seeking. You should probably do so as well.Well if they authors targeted optimal demographics they should be a hell of a lot better.
If the people looking at porn games purely wanted to look at pictures they could watch porn videos all day long and never run out of the to watch the rest of their lives.
To throw it back at you, what's stopping them from reading a book, or playing an indie darling videogame on Steam? They're here for the kinks. Games with better dialogue and storylines will only go so far if the adult and fetish content is wanting, hence the conventions. (One of my favorites, Seraphim Academy, is criminally underfunded...)They play because they want the choice, and the story.
We can make entire games with no dialog at all. But the fact is games with better dialog and story lines tend to do better. Just look at the ratings. So its kind of a false assumption that all porn game players want to do is get to the pictures. If that's the case just ask I have a shit load of URLs for you people your die before being able to see everything.
You don't know shit, saying that...Frankly, there is a large audience that is poorly catered to female. The LGBT community is catered to here more than the strait female unless she happens to be into the same thing a guy is.
You stick around here long enough, and you'll see the number of mistaken assumptions you've made in this segment. For a significant portion of this audience, there CAN be too much story in the way. Just as there are people who think the tag "story rich" makes a game something to avoid on Steam. The people browsing adult games for narrative-heavy erotica are a distinct, and quite small segment. (There are dozens of us! Dozens!)Think of it this way the guys who just want to click through will still be able to do that regardless if the story is written better it won't slow them down so it won't effect that audience group. But it will attract more people who like the actual story to be well written and consistent. In short there is no downside to it.
Literary art has plenty of well written short stories. For something to be well written it doesn't require including a large amount of material or trying to appease all audiences. In fact that's a general mistake the best works always target rather specific audience. That's something they used to teach in Literature and writing 101. First year college freshman shit. And who is the "optimal demographic"? It's not about the "looking at pictures". It's about feeling like you (or your character) managed to get there through your own personal agency... and the "there" matters quite a lot in adult games, as does the agency. Getting anal about realistic details detracts from both.
You don't know shit, saying that...
A straight woman who has a problem with the lesbian content of this game has a hundred other female protagonist games she can go to with all the dick-riding she could ever want. Proper lesbian content (and by that, I mean lesbian content unattached to any dick contact along the way) is very few and very niche. The few games that actually specialize in lesbian content are bombarded by "why female protag" and "why lesbian only" complaints from angry fanboys. That this game has a lesbian-ish path that I could play without having to deal with dick along the way is a major plus for me and quite rare, thank you very much.
Gay male content is even more niche, but I doubt you'd be stumping for more of that.

Clearly, nobody's writing literary short stories here. Or reading them, for that matter, judging from the steady extinction of the literary magazine. Also, define "best"? Best-selling? Most awarded? You do know those are 2 different things, right? A massively selling work like Harry Potter sells on broad appeal, not niche targeting.Literary art has plenty of well written short stories. For something to be well written it doesn't require including a large amount of material or trying to appease all audiences. Sure. But if your collection of content attracts more people than it repels, you've achieved your objective if you're looking for patrons. As much as I prefer lesbian-only games, I'm not delusional enough to think that such a game will have the same audience reach as a game wherein that is but one tag among many. I might not check such a game personally, but another who likes lesbian content but is willing to slog through the others will, along with whoever else gravitates to the other content. The problem with trying to appease everyone is you will turn people off with content people don't want to see. That's why they have that spoiler section telling what is in the game so people can look at it and go yep this contains stuff I like or I don't like.
"Your average female" obviously isn't the target audience of F95, as if it wasn't clear enough. Us girls who come here know what we're coming for. A straight girl who comes here wanting straight content won't be lacking for options. And yes, we're not the "average female", whatever that is.You do realize there are sites you can run poles on and some of us have our own servers and means to setup directories for people be directed to content without going through this site. Write now I have 3 servers sitting in the same room I am in, 2 in the adjacent room, another to in the room beside that and one in my sons room and I have two more that are getting ready to be installed. Sorry, this sites content isn't that attractive to the average female. Sorry to bust your bubble.
In a perfect world, sure. In a world where the people who will breeze through the non-essential dialogue to path themselves quickly onto the erotic scenarios far outnumber those who will take the time to read dialogue as to make it not worth the expense to devs who aren't good at creating it (they'll have to hire writers and translators), it's not "common sense". They'll stick to their strengths and what gets them patrons. Best you can do is support those that can deliver better dialogue (and plotting, and pacing, and mood-setting, etc...)Guys who click through 10 pages in a hurry not reading the content don't give a shit about the dialog which is what we are talking about. Improving the dialog and narration. They are going to skip through it just the same. Or do you think in that 100ms the dialog is visible they will read it and suddenly be turned off. The only people who are going to be affected by better dialog are those that care about it. That's just common sense.
Yes there is. Just say no to all the guys, though there's this one encounter that is a mix of saying no to him but saying what he wants to hear (go back a few pages, some of the other users figured it out and I just followed them), and try to do extra work where you can. You can stick with just Eve if you like.Is there any way to play this game on a 100% lesbian route?
Even the Dev said that there is no way to avoid 100% sex with men.Yes there is. Pick the middle option. She'll grab his penis to threaten him, then nothing happens. For example, right at the beginning, if you say no to the crazy IT, you get fired on the spot. That is, you already have to at least get on the guy's dick if you want to advance in the game, even if you later send him to hell.
Well you know, 100% of your ancestors either possessed a penis or had a penis enter them so it's reflective of real life.Even the Dev said that there is no way to avoid 100% sex with men.
Glad you liked it.Well i made my appreciation of the game clear before, and now that it's resolved, i enjoyed it a lot.
By my count, there are about nine different endings, each with several different variants.I managed to find 4 different endings so far and i think there are at least two more. So that's pretty damn great.
No, sorry. One of the changes I made after I started posting was to give the players an opportunity to avoid some of Eve, but telling her to fuck off was never part of the game.Only the Eve arc feels too forced to me. Even if you block her advances at every opportunity she still drags you into the attic during the Party, would love to have an angle to tell her to fuck off already.
And i could swear i found an opportunity to do that in an earlier build but i can't find it again.
No Patreon scheme and no Patreon page.Great game, and the fact that this wasn't another Patreon scheme that dragged on for a Year already earns a lot of bonus points for me.
I sure hope this wont be the last game from you Ryder.
