I installed into it’s own directory and started a new game and still got the error

its propably because of the walkthrough mod i use. its not updated to 18.2 yet so i guess it overwrites the home.rpy with the old one?

Moral of the story: Don't use outdated mods
So if ya'll are getting an error involving "visit_ain", I'd delete the Desert Stalker directory entirely and then re-extract it from the zip so you don't have any of the files the outdated mod fucked up for you. Frankly I would steer clear of any mods that fuck around with your game files at all. If you need a mod at all, just use URM.

You can't buy it on steam, that's the purpose... However you can ask a friend in another zone to buy it and gift it to you
Did I just miss a bunch of stuff the first time I played, or did the dev go back and expand some of the sex scenes from previous versions? Some of the early scenes have options that I don't remember being there before. Haven't played in awhile but I like the new version so far.

and they notate this with your purchase...Yes, the game was reworked around v0.16 I believe, and everyone had to restart, it was NOT a gigantic rework, just smaller type stuff, images and animations fixed, redone, cleaned up, and lots of code and backend changes.
He's right to ask for a gallery with ALL the scenes... makes no sense to exclude some just because they're repeatable. As it is, you kinda have to use 2 galleries, so to speak... that's not optimal.
Oh also, tangentially: repeatable scenes are stupid... I wish he'd remove those and make them normal ones... u_u

On another note: Do you guys know if the dev's finished all the reworks he was planning or are the still more to come? I'm waiting for all the remakes/reworks to be done before I replay... thanks!

Has anyone else noticed that a lot of the videos have been cut in half? They freeze half way through while in game before looping.
It depends on the version you played at first but yes, updates sometimes revisit previous content, the game is a work in progress after all. If you are not afraid of spoilers you can check the changelogs for details.
Also, there is missable content (the entire mutant storyline for instance), so both are possible.

I managed to fix gallery scene "Primal Instinct" in v0.18.2 compressed:
close game
unren game/scripts.rpa
open game/scripts/day18.rpy
go to line 2100
replace "re_d188b8b228" with "re_d18b228"
save and launch game
close game

In theory. The old versioning was much more straight forward...16a (alpha), 16b (beta), 16c (release). Now it's .0 (alpha), .1 (beta) and .2 (full release) instead.
