I tried to click the ! but, I keep getting this message. Is it the game or the mod doing it?

i'm on version 18.3. im deeper into storry but game crash agin.
I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

I must admit, I have been completely put off playing this again after it was so sanitised for the Steam release. It's silly really because I don't think I really would miss anything that has been removed, but just knowing that it was altered changes my entire feeling for the game.

It's not a matter of getting "fixed" because the game itself is fine. This problem is caused by using an outdated walkthrough mod that is overwriting game files with bad variables. https://f95zone.to/threads/desert-stalker-v0-18-3-zetan.68105/post-16865183

It'd be better to just extract a new copy of 18.3 and do not install the outdated mod in the first place. If you need a mod, then just use URM because it doesn't overwrite game files.

The only mod I ever use for any renpy game is URM. I don't bother with any mods that mess with game files. So no, sorry.

The other one should have been final, but as noted in the changelog, I guess the animations got messed up for a lot of people due to the compression they used. So, it sounds like an update that had to happen. I would assume it would be the final one, but v0.17 had a couple more after the final one as well, but they were mainly added translations and minor fixes, not really worth redownloading.

In this case v0.18.3 sounds like it is necessary to download if you had the animation troubles.

Oh, that mod is done by AdanGC, he takes a while regardless of when the final comes out. He works during the week and only has sparingly amount of time to work on mods on the weekend.

Well, the whole Sahara for 10 bucks it's quite a bargain. Ok, it's just a huge, empty desert but Libia alone, with all that oil, is worth the purchase.

Is it just me or has this AVN lost it's unique appeal. The sex has no real feeling in it. Also seems as though the story has bogged to uninteresting tidbits. Maybe it is just me and the Quality of many AVN's have improved a lot recently.
