You can choose in the Beginning if you want to play the FMC or not, so if you only want a Male MC then you can play as Male MC only

I see that the sharing is optional but is it the kind where it still happens even if you turn it off but you just don't see it or is it truly optional and never happens?

If not enabled/enabled but don't allow it then it doesn't happen.
