Interesting game with a lot of potential. I like that you have four factions that you can work with (mutants, raiders, decayed and the queen) and everyone has their own agenda, wants, needs and goals. Makes it feel more like a regular game than a porn game.

Wow, I just saw Desert Stalker is on Steam. How is that possible? I heard so much about Steam being very strict about some content, I feel like DS has more than enough of these to not be allowed there...?

They removed some content and changed parts of the storyline. It's also clear that they are playing it safe with future content. Basically, they cut content from the roadmap they had planned before.

It's been a while since I played it last time but iirc this controversial content was game's core and what actually made game so popular and likeable here... Is it still any good or another title sold for Steam's money?

Well I played it yesterday and I could tell that some stuff has been shuffled around, some rework and a little bit of something was missing here and there but I can't really pinpoint what exactly since I play this game maybe once a year...maybe my memory playing tricks on me but judging by the other comments some content may have been cut, I just don't know what exactly.
But beyond that no, the game still contain gore, incest, rape, etc...all the more spectacular scenes you remember are still in the game.
In the end I liked the new content, even if all things considered there is not a lot of it after a year, but it's good nonetheless.
I'm also surprised about steam.
Ravager is also on steam, both theses games contain heavy gore, incest, rape and a lot of bestiality for ravager, but this doesn't seem to be a problem for steam, I guess I assumed wrong.

That content is still in the game. Gore is still there. You can still "hydrate" a couple of the females. You can still define relationships. They removed a 5-render scene that some people were crying about. Some things were changed up a bit. But it's mostly still the same game.
So much salt. As if getting paid was never on the table since the beginning, thus Patreon. You expect them to do this shit for free? Just so you can have your faps?
Have some respect for players too, why cut content, not only 5 renders, where it doesnt need to, yall just paranoid when worse shit is on Steam.
I guess money changes devs, we'll see how long can they can get away with it tho

You're so dense. Imagine pumping thousands of hours into a project only to have it removed from Patreon (almost happened) and get banned from Steam. What's the point after those platforms are gone? What incentive would there be to continue the game?
Your problem. Shoulda been smarter from beginning, now you just pissing players off. Steam wont ban you, if Patreon does, SS exists as well. Its not end of the world

If you missed the last 50 times it was explained to you (including by the devs) those 5 renders were removed because the camera angles made Ain look very underaged while she was passively participating in a sex act. Those specific renders got flagged for review by Patreon so the devs opted to omit them ahead of the Steam release. The scene itself didn't get changed much and the changes were inconsequential enough that it was worth removing them to not piss off the two most lucrative platforms an AVN dev can be on right now. It would have been incomprehensibly stupid NOT to remove those renders... Stop complaining about this.

My problem? I'm still very happy with the game. It's still my favorite. It seems more like your problem for playing a game that is still in development where changes can and do happen all the time.
SS is not a suitable substitute for Patreon. Many people can't even use SS because they don't have a payment processor option such as PayPal.

Steam can, SS can. Like someone else said (not sure if it was this thread): they all have similar stuff in their TOS. Patreon is the one that seems to enforce the most / is most strict. SS is no safe haven or something. SS just recently took The Ronovan's page offline (for (still) unclear reasons, he's talking with SS about it apparently).
