Why aren't we given a choice here? Although the author initially thought about an alternative fate for Katerina, he even made renderings, but eventually abandoned this idea, and in my opinion it was very wrong.

We did explore that option but we ultimate decided against going forward with it because it most likely would turn out very similar to the main path, so it wasn't an actual existing path that we removed later.
Those couple of renders were made for story-boarding purposes and were left in the game purely as extra images.

I am sure that many people would really like option X for any given character (and so do we in many occasions), but if we want to properly finish the game in our lifetime we oftentimes have to limit the scope. That's the simple reality of creating any game.

Wouldn't really make sense since when you romance her, she was lead into the path of becoming a priest after Zaton and Katerina met the pregnant priest during their date. Hence I guess that why she didn't mind fucking her uncle since a priest job is just to bear as many kids as possible. Doesn't matter whose the baby it was with.

Uh no. She was curious about the priestesses and Zaton filled her in on their purpose. This in no way means she was "on the path" of becoming a priestess and there is nothing that remotely states that.
That is an incredible leap that seems to be because you want to justify loaning Mr clean your women. You do you bud but lets stick to the facts ok?
I suggest you go back and replay the scene to refresh your memory.

We need some strong female adversaries to be conquered. Right now, we mostly had access to easy-pussy (I still love'em). But we need some characters to hate-fuck later on.

The queen would have been such a great candidate for that but with each release she becomes more softer for OP and using her daughter a relatively easy catch.

I think one reason why DS is so successful is because it a team effort were everyone pitches in and work divided pretty evenly. More people mean more work can be done simultaneously and quicker updates.

Huh, from reading the comments on this thread it seems like I can avoid Shani being hurt but when I got to the part where she gets hurt I have no control over her, she just gets hurt.

Is it still avoidable or did it get patched out?

Here is my crazy idea how I think what if... in another verse Desert Stalker characters were from The Witcher franchise:
Zaton = Geralt de Rivia, Zahra = Triss Merigold, Rabiah = Yennefer of Vengerberg, Shani = Cirilla of Cintra, Igor = Vesemir, Queen Merneith = Princess Ada of Temeria(daughter of King Foltest), Ain = ???, Fairy = ???, Emilia = ???...

Have you guys any other idea which other character from Desert Stalker character would be if they were from The Witcher franchise?

I don´t know if Zahra should be considered Triss, since Yennefer is the canon partner of Geralt. Why did you assign Princess Ada to Merneith? Because they´re both royalty? Ain = Shani, Fairy = Keira, Emilia = Margarita de Laux-Antille, Katerina = Essi Daven, Nadia = Sabrina Glevissig, Omar = Whoreson Junior.

Well, I made Zahra as Triss Merigold because of the personality both characters has is very similar. Yennefer has a personality more similar with Rabiah, I think. But I agree that physically, Zahra is more looking like Yennefer.

Also, I assigned Merneith as Princess Ada due to that both characters has some hard personalities sometimes and they both are similar in that.

I am just curious why did you assign Omar as Whoreson Junior? They have nothing in common.

I assigned Zaton as Geralt of Rivia, due to that both characters kill monsters, travel, enter abandoned ruins and both has some problems with politics, even if they try to avoid it. And both are teachers to their trainee daughters.

IIRC that needs you to have sharing on, and she'll seduce the guy to get the drop on him easier or something. I don't play with sharing so I don't know exactly.
