i noticed the file size is only 4.2 gb, whereas for 0.17 version it was 4.8 gb, are we losing in quality or something??
They changed the image compression I think. Anyhow if you can't tell the difference without looking at file size it's all good

Hi,

I wanted to try the game but when starting the Linux .sh file this happens instead of starting the game. How do you work around that?
Some distros automatically make the unzipped package non-executable by default. When that happens, you'll need to fix the permissions.

chmod u+x -R 'Desert Stalker v0.18.3-market'/

Then you should be able to run the shell script as an executable from the Desert Stalker directory with ./*.sh. (tip: just make a bash alias for that and call it "vn". At least that's what I do. I launch all my renpy games that way)

If you're still having issues, then consider just using the Renpy Launcher (aka Renpy SDK), from Renpy.org. With that method, you just have to put your renpy games in your Renpy SDK dir, and run renpy.sh. You can launch any renpy game this way on linux, even if it's a windows only build.

So guys i rescued fairy but i feel like her quest was rushed...like immediately after i rescued her she got put in the dungeon and it's implied that she lashed out as an animal or something but we don't see that also the characters say they interacted with her and again we only gets a mention of it .... maybe my game bugged out or was this the same for everyone?

This is called minor character with limited content only. She will have a couple scenes, as you can see in the gallery, but that is all. She is not a relevant character.

That's good to know! Sometimes is frustrating to find Renpy games where the dev didn't bother to just tick the option to include a Linux executable when exporting the game. Thanks!

Initially, the MC puts Fairy into the dungeon because he knows nothing about her. He literally has no reason to trust her behavior, and he doesn't want to risk danger to his family. (Depending on choices in your own playthrough, he may have done the same with others, like Kyra and Ivy.) He's not necessarily cruel (unless you want him to be), but he's wise and takes precautions especially when it comes to his family.

How Fairy behaves after she's put in the dungeon should be entirely dependent on your choices with her. You can either have the MC heal her (give her a meal where she feeds herself, give her a nice bed to lie on, have nice conversations with her, etc.) or break her (other choices, like feed the meal to her, telling her she'll make a good slave, etc.). Her feral nature was caused by her past masters (especially the Decayed), all of whom seemed intent on breaking her with cruelty. You'll eventually "subdue" her either way; it's just what you want for the end with her. Maybe you want her to act like a normal servant who respects and even loves the MC (which is more of a winning her over than actual submission). Alternately, you might prefer to have her submissive and still speaking in broken words, etc.

I've restarted this game a couple of times (most recently within the past month), and I can tell you that I've never seen any kind of apparent skipping of content with Fairy or anything (other than not seeing things from a different path than what I'd chosen for her). But the other members of the household will indeed interact with her while your MC isn't there; obviously she needs food, etc., when the MC is away.

But what becomes of Fairy in the end should be entirely up to your choices. If the game automatically chooses without your prior input, that does sound like a bug. But if so, that's a bug I've never seen.

Thx for the long reply i greatly appreciated it!...i just thought it was odd that i knew her name without even asking and just roll with it , also the fact that the mc mentioned she acted feral without actually seeing any event prior... that's why i thought i did skip something add to the fact some images are giving me a black screen with an error..so thx again mate

I'm lazy to play the whole game, does anyone have a full save for the current version for the game? Please and thank you. :) (y)

Guys, you remember the girl, who tries to kidnap Ain? I would like to see her story continued. Like after the punishment, the queen listened to MC and let her free, and someday she met with the MC and start developing a bond, or someting like that.

Uhmm... I don't think MC needs to develop any kind of bond. We had the choice to make her a public service utility (meat processor), I think MC can do whatever he wants with her, given his position with the Queen. Would be a good addition to our "slave" collection, potentially.

I'm also lazy...so no.
My favorite thing is when they ask for a "full save"... which often doesn't exist, like in this game. Did a specific character live? Is the MC pursuing each of dozens of characters? Does the MC dominate a specific character, try for more even footing in the relationship, or become submissive? There's way too much consequence based on choices in this game for a "full save" even to be possible.

These guys don't think about it because they're not only too lazy to play, but also too lazy to use their brains to figure out what you wrote. As a rule, all these lazybones understand “full save” to mean a fully unlocked gallery of scenes. And they don't care that this is often impossible to do in one playthrough, and moreover, unlocking the gallery may require a persistent file that can be completely unique to each player, depending on the decisions they make and the routes they choose.
