How to Fix the Future

Lust Academy

Here's a few to start. Can't find my list.

Edit: Some more.

Golden Mean

Our Bright Days

Apocalypse Lovers

Elite Garden

The Bite: Revenant

Alternate Existence

Taffy Tales (This one, I'm not sure what's going on with that. At times, it seems like the devs got someone to write for them but other times it's still pretty bad.)

Hard to Love

The Agency

Summer's Gone

There's a few more I could think of but to be fair, I'm just giving you whatever I rated poorly for the terrible grammar/spelling and haven't played any of these in a long while. I'm not sure whether any of them have recruited proofreaders or they'd be willing to recruit one at all.

I just figured that if you reach out and they recruit you, it's a win-win situation. You get commissions and I don't pull my hair out from reading something like, "Maybe, though? WTF. What's it?"

Wow, yeah, that line is a doozy. I'm not even sure where to begin with that one! I'll check them all out, thanks for your intermittent help. o7

Still going strong, thinking of making a Patreon soon with monthly/bi-monthly stories for some passive income.
This is going to be a tangent but you also might as well start playing around with AI too. Add some "nice" pictures to your stories and essentially skip the middle man altogether lol. It wouldn't have to be a game but I can see people subscribing for basically just a real visual novel/comic.

That's an idea I had before myself actually. Was going to get an artist to do it on their account where I can write snippets for their art, but I don't think they followed through on making an account. AI is a little tricky for me. It feels a bit cheap/unnecessary when my quality of writing is already great and stands on its own. Regardless of whether the use of AI is marginal or extensive for a given project, the public eye always has a negative perception of it. If anything, I could just credit artists and point to their existing work as the inspiration for the story which accomplishes the same thing and possibly could lead to partnerships in the future (I'm giving them free advertising and the stories themselves would be free to the public, so I wouldn't be monetizing their work either). Regardless, you reminded me that was an option, so thanks for that.

Off-topic from this, I'm intrigued as to why you've been so invested in my journey. Did you stumble onto something you liked and just decide to help out?

If I'm being 100% with you, I just really hate bad grammar and spelling. LOL. From our past conversations, you'll recognize how many games I've had issues with because of it. I just want to voice my support for anyone trying to fix that. I also occasionally get notified of replies to this thread and go, "Oh yea! I hope that guy is doing well." In all honesty, I haven't had the kind of free time this past year or two to really try many games and have stuck to just a handful I'd been following since before things got busy.

Fair enough. I also have my qualms about grammar, but I particularly notice bad punctuation a ton (probably because it's even harder to gauge than grammar with less objective rules in some cases). The thing is, if people are fine with that type of quality in their game, they're not usually someone I enjoy working with or who would see the value in hiring me. I've stuck to this thread getting me work besides one time I applied for a position, and this place never fails me. I appreciate you popping in when you get notified though, it's a very human thing that most people have lost it seems like.

Beyond the bad rep possibilities of AI, I think actually not using AI after it's become so prevalent will be its own form of respect from certain audiences. Sort of a boost for doing things as I've already done them. I've wanted to learn pixel art for a while, but I need more funds to be stable enough to take the time to learn a skill on the side like that, and here we are, full circle already. There are some projects where the use of AI is strictly beneficial, like the Rock Paper Scissors animations that Corridor Digital made, but tons of manpower went into that as well, so it still carries that "soul" people are concerned about when AI is involved. Short of it is that most people use AI in a sloppy way and that gives it a bad rep, because at the end of the day, they are just programs made by people who are fallable. The actual productive/innovative uses of it which people respect require just as much effort and funding as traditional methods, possibly more depending on the use of it.

Well, yea. I also just can't help but want to acknowledge someone who keeps at it. That's a special trait that will lead you to where you want. Having been on the receiving end of support, I know it can mean a lot for just a few simple words of encouragement.

Also, yes. You're correct. I'm just hoping that there are some devs who simply just don't know any good proofreaders. It's a very slim possibility but you never know.

That sounds interesting. Will have to check that out.

Yea, basically. If you've seen the Latest Updates section for the past 6 months, it's been pretty much all low-effot, AI slop. But to your point, I think it has potential in the right hands.
