Hi everyone! I'm b and I'm the project lead for this game. I'll be around to answer questions and post info, but first, let me do some of the actual FAQ things.

How do we know you're the real deal!

Dimensions VIP is made by MOBSoft Funstuff, which is a company with 8 employees, and we're doing fine, thank you for asking. We've been working remotely exclusively since early February. We're funded, and made a profit from our other work last year. No, we're not making money off this game, but that's fine, we get to watch porn and play video games as our jobs and I'm not sure what else we would need money for now that the zombie hordes have taken over the world in any case.

Payments/costs/paywalls
The game is fully funded on our part. We need to cover operational costs, which we currently do from Patreon and Steam, but this is a passion project more than anything. We've been working on this for over 18 months, and the game has been available publically for over a year.

I designed the game to allow you to complete all content without paying a dime. Yes, it requires some patience. It's a dating game. If you just want to get a quick fap, PornHub is yonder...

There is not, nor will there ever be, content that you need to purchase. In fact, the Patreon versions do not even have a real money store so if you don't even want to see it available, get that one (It's on which are the same versions linked form our home page at ).

We also don't need you to pay anything for us to continue working on the game. The only thing payments and Patreon support does is increase the number of team members that can work on this so we can finish sooner and add more content. The full game, currently scheduled to have at least 7 dimensions, is fully funded.

We may have spin-off games, and in fact one is already planned, that are for sale, but Dimensions VIP is free, in the beer sense. Want to support us and help speed development up? Awesome! If not? Awesome. We're happy you enjoy it.


Login/accounts
The game is played on our servers. For that, you need to create an account. We never use that for anything other than tracking your game. If you want to use fake credentials, just make stuff up. If you don't want to link your Steam account, just play the Patreon version and again, just make stuff up. The only 'bad' side effect of that is that if you lose your password and don't have a real email set up, we can't recover your password automatically. We can still do so manually if you send us feedback in game.

The game plays in the background across your devices, even if you don't keep your computer or phone on. In fact, you can play on your PC in the morning and when you go for your essential stroll keeping 2 meters/6 feet away from anyone, you can continue playing the same game on your Android. Lost your PC to zombies? No worries, when you break into the abandoned PC stores after the governments of the world collapse, you can just log in to your account and you haven't lost a second of progress.

Oh, and that also means there's no offline mode. Sorry.


Performance
We know, or mostly I know, that there are slownesses in the game. We're working on it!

I'll write more about performance at some point, because it's on the top of our minds and I spend a lot of time monitoring and finding where we can improve performance. However, the gist is this:

For server operations, on normal operations, we serve 8-12K requests per hour with an average response time in the 200-300 milliseconds response time. Even if we increased the server capacity by 10x (we've tried) we'd only drop the server response times by at most 270 milliseconds. That's about the time it takes you to read one part of this sentence.

There's currently about 6K registered players, with about 1K playing on average per month, with a few hundred active (ranges from around 80-300) per day. 95% of these never see any unexpected slowness.

That's for the server part of this.

For the clients, I simply don't know yet, and I suspect this is where most of the slowness originates. We have added a local cache for images so once you've downloaded images once, they remain locally available so you don't need to download again. We're hosted on Azure, so bandwidth is not a problem, but images can be large, especially for scenarios and stories because there are a lot of images in this game (currently more than 650 images just for the first three released dimensions).

My working theory now is that there sometimes is a race condition, where several operations need to happen at once, and they compete for attention. For this, I'm working with a few superfan players who are helping me replicate and debug that slowness. I also want to reduce the number of calls required for certain operations. For example, loading the inventory on a new device when you have a lot of items can take up to a minute, which is definitely wrong. It's an edge case, however, so I'm focused on what can help the most people first.

If you're a bit patient for now, we're working on making everything faster.

Just use the Patreon version if you're nervous, or download the game from actual Steam if you're concerned about the version you have is tainted.

If you don't want to give up any personal data, just make stuff up using the Patreon account, but note that you cannot automatically recover your password if you don't have a real email address.

That's a great idea! We've been playing with the idea of having a wiki but haven't gotten around to setting one up.

Only playing the girls to your liking may not be the best idea, however. There are some main story girls in the game that you need to progress in order to continue the story. I'm not going to spoil it here (ask any spoiler questions marked as such) but if you only play one girl, you won't be able to get to the next dimensions. It should be hinted at in the stories which girls need to advance.

There are currently 19 girls in the game, plus about 8 in an upcoming French Resistance update. Each dimension has about the same number of new girls, so expect 8-10 girls per dimension for a currently scheduled 60ish girls total.

We'd be thrilled to support any community wiki, however, including, if required, setting up a paid wiki hosting, if someone can help us keep the information updated. We can help verify information and provide insight into hidden or difficult to find poses, stories, and scenes.

Hah, no. There's no incest. There's no rape, although we're pushing the boundaries with impossible choices, as you can see in the first dimension story, for example.

One of the purposes of the game is to show some issues with our current culture and attitude towards sex. We want to put you in difficult dilemmas, using sex as the story element instead of turtles and hares or whatnot.

Storyline seems promising, but all those different characters and dimensions means there's going to be a lot of art that will be needed...I hope the developer can keep up.

There are currently more than 650 images in the game, and we'll reach around 1500 by the time we've completed the main story line. They're all hand drawn.

As for pregnancy, that's already hinted in some stories, but will be more prevalent in future dimensions.

No pay wall. No content you need to purchase. Until early February, there wasn't any way to buy anything for real money. I've written more about it in comment, but there is not, nor will there ever be, content you need to purchase, and all the Dimension gems you need to have realistic progress you can earn in game.

If you're impatient, throw a few bucks at us, but if not, you won't miss out on anything :)

That does depend on which platform you're using. For PC, there should be one and only one .exe to launch. For Android, it should ask you whether you want to trust the source and then launch it automatically. Make sure you're downloading the version for the platform you're using.

Note that we're support PC and Android only, I wouldn't know how to start a game on a Mac or Linux, sorry. Maybe someone else can help?

So I need to ask...this is tagged "Femdom" now, is it femdom acted upon the MC/happens with the MC, or is this like...just a scene where two side characters do a thing and it gets tagged because of that?

Thanks for the detailed and thorough response. I'll try to play this game over the weekend to get a better sense of it, but it obviously looks very promising so far. I only mention the issue of artwork since while 2D games are a nice change from all the DAZgames out there, they are really labor intensive and getting the artwork done is often the main bottleneck.

But having 3 artists sounds great, and looking forward to this game!

WHAAAAAAT ???!!! REALLY DUDES!!!! ......... Anyway, I think you're going really wrong way and going straight in the wall (as we can say in French and that's only my opinion). Your game seams really good and already pretty big but... I will say it differently... If you are not hacking, why doing this "big" for "only a VN" (Maybe I've missing some infos, sorry but you gave so many....) ??? Really strange to me... And in an other way, take the place of us (gamers or readers), personaly I don't want to create an account (even if totaly fake) or loging just for an independant game I will maybe going to dislike (that's just, I don't want to lose time for that... Crap, I'm here to play!!!!) ... Maybe I'm really wrong and my opinion is only mine (and hope for you)... But I'm persuaded that all this things will really stop many people... Anyway, Good luck!

And dudettes, I might add. Half the team is female, more if you focus on the people working on the game actively...

We know there are people that don't want to play online, and for that, there's a huge amount of offline VNs that you might enjoy. This game, however, has a bunch of features beyond the VN stuff that doesn't make sense in an offline setting in any case. Simple things like being able to fix people's problems remotely (which actually is locally since it's on our servers), not having to deal with save game migrations or losses, and being able to play across devices. In Dimensions VIP, for example, you can be in the middle of a story on your PC and then flip open your Android when you go to take a dump and continue the story you're in, only to have it updated when you've wiped your ass with toilet paper on a and gotten back to your desk.

It also allows us to upgrade the game for everyone when releasing new content, rather than having thousands of players needing to download the entire content and game every time we update (which we usually do weekly, if not more frequently). We can also make sure you're not playing on deprecated versions, and since the client is really just a dumb client making calls to the server, it's much lighter and frankly more secure than a full offline client. We can also release new features on a staggered basis and invite testers to try out new content without having anyone leak upcoming content or expose others to risk by using trial versions.

Finally, we're avoiding hacks and cracks and cheats and stuff, which we feel ruin the experience.

If you're not happy with it, you can get your money back :p

I'd rather spend the time re-downloading the entire game every now and then than waiting for all the long-ass loading screens, to be honest.

Not that I'm a patron or anything, so I am just a free-loader, but I really don't think it's a great idea for a game like this.

I hope you're honest all the time, but loading times we can fix (and are fixing; you should have been there in the beginning when 300 new players in a weekend took down the servers for almost a day). Good news is that we can mostly fix this for everyone at the same time.

And in any case, this decision was made years ago so there's not much we can do about it now, except create everything again from scratch. If you're willing to fund that (budget is around US$40K) then I'll send you my PayPal to get started. If not, we need to listen to those that do fund the game, and they decided on a online game :)
