In terms of performance today, we know there have been some issues and we're closely monitoring it to scale our servers. To put it into perspective, we've currently seeing about 6-7 times more traffic than normally.
These are the number of requests to the server in the last hour (just north of 40K). The 'normal' number is 6-8K in an hour.
We have doubled the server and database capacity today to take the edge off it (which quadruples our cost, hence why we can't do it on a regular basis) and will continue to monitor during the weekend to match the increase in players.

Yes, and yes! The mechanic is story-driven, however, so there's no "fuck her until she gets pregnant" game play planned as of yet.
Uhm. It would be Eeeeeee-asy to convert the downloader to a cache checker. If the file isn't in cache, download it, else get from cache.I hope you're honest all the time, but loading times we can fix (and are fixing; you should have been there in the beginning when 300 new players in a weekend took down the servers for almost a day). Good news is that we can mostly fix this for everyone at the same time.
And in any case, this decision was made years ago so there's not much we can do about it now, except create everything again from scratch. If you're willing to fund that (budget is around US$40K) then I'll send you my PayPal to get started. If not, we need to listen to those that do fund the game, and they decided on a online game
This way you will save bandwidth AND waiting periods. You can just purge the cache when the game closes.

Obviously any game that is placed on this site that makes you register just to play is going to have problems. Might be some desperate people that will part with any personal info but thankfully im not so stupid as to leak private info or really any contact info just to play a game that does not need to be online to be fun. I mean if your a big company or something I get it but for a game that people just play to make their little guy happy obviously plenty of games to fill that void so this one will not be missed in my playlist. What's next...? Micro-transactions?

I got as far as the part where it tries to automatically register itself to my Steam account. Alt+F4, deleted, burned, poured holy water, poured a circle of salt and wiped free space just to be sure.

I was non-plussed by that myself, but some of that artwork looked impressive and that tag list intrigued me, so when I saw the representative above say you could enter garbage info and not use Steam I gave it a go and I think I know what they're going for here. This is the type of game you can log into anytime you want and advance your progress and revisit old conquests/scenarios and set things up for your next login, later on or the next day. You go on a date, the counter starts and two hours later it's done. Buildings take six hours or so to build, so you start one and go off and do something else, like send girls off on a mission which ends hours later itself. It's more like one of those MMORPGs where you log in a couple times a day on a regular basis over the course of months. You're playing on their server rather than your computer, that's why you need to log in, and the e-mail info is just if you forget your password or want to get update info etc from them.
Now it looks to me like you can speed things up by purchasing credits, but you don't have to, they seem to be wagering that instead of waiting a month or two between updates like the standard Patreon model that they can get enough people appreciative of or interested in new material faster they'll throw them some support here and there and get it sooner, much like most Patreons get new releases faster than the ones who don't pledge.
Ironically this is my very first post because when I registered for this site and saw it had appeared to have lifted an old avatar I used on serious sites instead of Little Miss Spankable there, I was so creeped out I refused to post wondering if this site had some sort of talons in my computer. In the process of looking into this game I investigated that too and was embarrassed to discover this was a Wordpess site so it used the Gravatar I'd set up a decade ago and totally forgot about. I feel kinda silly about that now and my guess is this business model is likely no more sinister than something like that.
As for the game itself, it seems to be something like a cross between Simbrothel and Slavemaker, except with unique characters and new artwork, the bulk of which I found rather impressive. Thus not for those who invest overmuch in the MC but for those who just wanna see the hot young sluts stuffed senseless and can appropriate for themselves any role in the story they please.
It's badly in need of a wiki/manual though, and tooltips. It's difficult to figure out what the hell you're supposed to be doing and what everything does. The few tutorial-type items aren't particularly in-depth and after putzing around with it for an hour or two I still don't have a firm grasp on how to play.

Let's talk about accounts for a moment, because I'm not going to respond to everyone asking the same thing.
This game requires an account. It's how we play the game on the servers. If you don't want to create an account, that's fine, there are plenty of other games on this site that you can play.
There were more than 700 people from this site alone yesterday that created an account and are now playing. Comments in-game are either very positive or complaining about performance, which we fixed after a few hours yesterday.
If you're not happy with how this game is made, and only want to complain that we're not giving you free porn the way you want us to, don't worry about it. Your mother and I still love you very much and we won't think any less of you. This game simply was not made for you, but for the thousands of others that seem, mostly, to enjoy it.
Look, you're allowed to be upset about the choices others make, and others may change their decisions if you yell loud enough. I, however, need to keep focus on making sure our artists, developers, writers, and community manager (yes, singular, the others are plural) are paid, have work that inspires them, and get the direction they need. To a smaller extent, I need to make those that fund the game happy. Also, and most importantly, we need to make our players happy. If you're not a player, an employee, or are funding the development of the game, then your opinion is considered after all the others have had their say.
It doesn't mean that we're not listening, but if I were to complain about how McDonalds should add more salt to their Big Macs, but never actually eat at McDonalds, or invest heavily in the company, or actually work there, then the chances that McDonald's will ever listen to me, much less change their salt level, is miniscule.
I realize this may sound arrogant, but that is not my intention. I'm not dismissing your opinion about having to create an account, but that opinion was considered when we started planning this game years ago. We considered it several times during the first months of development in 2018. For a long time, the game was actually just a web game, and people were complaining then that they didn't want their browser history or cache to include lewd content. We've adjusted, dropped, or added many things based on input from players, employees, and funders. This is not going to be one of the things we'll change.
There are always going to be those that don't agree with any decision, and a percentage of those that will scream loudly about it, but that goes for the decision if it had gone in another direction too, so we're not too worried about it anymore.
As a final note, I would encourage everyone to consider how you portray yourself and communicate with the developers that pour their passion into giving you entertainment. I've been doing development for more than 35 years now, including spending years as a highly controversial person in the SharePoint community, to the point where people were literally sending me credible death threats. I'm not affected by hate, or insults, and descriptions of my genitals, but other developers may be discouraged from giving you great content and keep doing amazing work. Those may fall off the wayside and you may lose out on the next great game simply because you couldn't control your desire to spew vitriol. If you don't like something about the game, either skip it or give a helpful comment or reasoned opinion, preferably one that hasn't already been addressed several times, but most of all, support those creative souls who are hard at work (harr, harr) for you do their inspired mission of giving you more materials for your next fap.
