If you follow the walkthrough to the letter while also doing these missing steps it should work
I've redone it a couple of times and it's work both times

now go to tent (green tent left side of the school) and click on cat
now go back to cake shop and click on cat
Talk to the two women outside supermarket
Talk to the third woman that appears
Talk to the two women outside supermarket again
(now u can go check on pool there only grandmaa is in pool talk to her XD)

In the TSOTH folder there is a GAME folder, there is a SAVE folder in it, place the file there.
