I think a lot of you guys are looking at the game from the wrong angle. The slow burn is actually really well tuned. It doesn’t just focus on the MC’s girlfriend, it also brings in other characters who move at a faster pace toward the sex scenes. Maybe what feels “realistic” about the game isn’t obvious at first, but it comes from how the relationships are built. Take Adrianna, for example — she’s stuck in a worn-out relationship with a history of fights and problems, so it makes sense that she cheats quicker. Marissa, on the other hand, has a long and stable thing with the MC, so of course she takes longer. Genma is lonely and insecure, so falling deeper and deeper into sweet talk also feels believable.
I think what the author is aiming for is keeping every relationship grounded in realism, shaped by each character’s history. That’s the opposite of most games out there, where characters feel like empty shells. Here, they carry past baggage, and that shapes how they act — just like in real life.
And about the Marissa/Flora relationship: honestly, that’s spot-on with reality. Women often feel way more comfortable and intimate around their female friends than around guys. That’s because, let’s be real, most guy “friends” usually have some hidden interest. That intimacy between girls can naturally open the door to them trying things with each other. I’ve seen it happen more than once among friends.
And of course, personality always comes into play when this happens. But since Marissa’s in a long-distance situation with the MC, it makes the whole thing way more plausible. And honestly, if you think about it, at the early stages she’d be way more reluctant with a random guy than with Flora. If I were the author, I’d even stretch it out a lot longer for Justin to get anywhere at all — unless Flora steps in.
I get the feeling this story has a lot of little touches pulled from real-life relationships the author might’ve experienced. I may be wrong, but that’s how it feels.
