WRONG!

The article was amended in 2011 to include "recording media containing [obscene] electronic or magnetic records," as well as materials distributed by electronic means.

The only thing you almost got right was "until westerner's showed up in their country" and almost because westerners appeared in Japan in 1543, if you are mentioning when in relation to the opening of Japan in the late 1800's then its correct in the sense that lead to the Meiji Restoration and the tightening on pornographic publication, that was fairly new since printing press? they didnt had one, those were woodblock images.

We could talk about the "Allied" occupation of Japan that certain had a influence but that goes both ways, the bunny girl is very obviously taken from Playboy Club Bunny Girl.

I dislike this argument since its repeating a myth, a misconception of Japan censorship law regarding pornography being created by the American Occupation, as they predate then.
Gotta blame it on the west to keep the illusion of a perfect country that can do no wrong.

Bible Black wasn't even made by Empress, it's just the same artist. Maybe just don't play their games, if you don't like them?
Correct, Empress is the dev, Sei Shoujo is the artist and the developer of BB. Empress games use only his art, hard to tell, if he has any influence on the content he draws for those.

He does. It is why the 2nd half of Discipline is a mess cause he insisted on that baseball game plot line.

Yes, it was made by Active, Discipline was also made by Active.

However Active ceased operations in 2006, Empress is a offshoot from Active as VNDB states and their first time, Cleavage, was released in 2005, in fact Sei Shoujo is listed as the Scenario creator, same in Starless and Sleepless so ... yes, its the same people even if Active wasnt entirely focused on a specific fetish but its kinda obvious the staff that worked on Bible Black and Discipline come to form Empress.
I had had a hunch that might have been the case, thanks for the clarification. I swear I checked the scenario writers and they were different, but apparently I misread that.
Funnily he only wrote the ones for Bible Black, Discipline and the Starless series, but not the rest of the VNs and I can see it, Closed Game wasn't that good, I hope this one is better.

Wow didn't know that. But let's face it; Sei Shoujo's art is second to none. Too bad that this is not uncensored as Closed Game was.

I don't want to kink shame anyone but I weep for the art i miss out on with these, because i just can't deal with the scat. Knowing its in there feels like every click in an h scene is pulling the trigger in russian roulette. You don't know when its going to happen but with the tag I can't relax because any moment could be it and its very offputting for me.
I mean, scat kink is something rare, still, it is not that strange, considering having anal sex can have "accidents", I mean it happened even to me and no it wasn't arousing the least bit, still, I won't get grossed out from anime scat...IRL is something different ofc.

only reason Closed Game and Starless were not censored is because they were brought over by JAST. This is why i hated when other companies started getting the games.
JAST "uncensors" their licensed games, pretty sure MangaGamer does it too but kinda the issue being that I dont think they have access to the original artwork to begin even if its "uncensored" since if you know there is going to be a mosaic there arent many people that bother with details.

Its also very obvious that were decensored as often you see its not quite right and have that "axe wound" vagina.

For the people asking about the MTL "quality" (feels weird to talk about it as such, like ranking saltine crackers on a scale of blandness), it's acceptable. You can definitely tell it's MTL, but it's not horrifically bad.
Some parts definitely do not sound like human speech and there's the usual bit of MTL weirdness, but it's also not constantly describing a vag as "carburetor." So...6/10? You can determine enough from the MTL to figure out what's being said whenever it has a stroke.

Tbh, my biggest gripe isn't actually the MTL, but the UI design. Holy fuck, it's bad
If you can tell its mtl and have phrase it as not bad but "Not Horrifically bad" Its pretty clear its going to be bad.
