Holy shit. This still alive? When was a last update before this one? 2 years ago?
The MV version, the original I suppose, had massive problems. I had already started remaking the game when I decided to switch to MZ as it's a better engine, in my opinion at least. Getting the game to where it was while making sure it was stable has not been easy. But now that the plugins I was using from Yanfly have all basically been recreated by VisuStella, as well as few new ones have appeared too, development has been fairly smooth. That said, the last update was some months ago, not 2 years ago and I've always said I'd never abandon the game. I work on it because it brings me peace and it's something I enjoy doing, whether people support it or not. Obviously I'd like people to support it though. In any event, the current foundation is solid, I'm happy with how it's shaping up and future updates should come out with more regularity. I still don't expect it to get much support though and I'm kind of surprised somebody posted the update here. People might not agree with my methods but I am committed to the game and I hope people enjoy it.

I hope this game continues ! I too thought it was abandoned, but if you continue with updates between at least 6 months people will probably start to support the game, the problem is making people see that the development will not stop :/
I liked this game a lot, at least the idea of the game :3

Unless I die, the game will never be abandoned. Like I said, working on this game brings me peace. I don't know when the next update will be but it definitely won't take 6+ months. I look at it like this, take Summertime Saga, a game for more popular and along in dev than mine. It's a fairly simple game but it's taken them hella long to update it to the new version. Some people say they're milking, maybe they are, but from personal experience I know that it's a lot of work to upgrade/update an entire game to a new engine. Or in their case, going from SD to HD and whatever else they're doing. But as far as my game goes, this update solidifies the core. All core features, except the magic system, are done. I just have to add on to them and redo a ton of renders as I also changed all the models. It'll take time, but it'll get done.

That is correct. I initially started making the game in MV. However I didn't have that much, any, experience using it and the game bugs started adding up so I decided to rework the game from the ground up as I had gained more experience using the software. While I was doing that, MZ came out, which is basically MV 2.0, and after playing around with it I decided to "port" the game over to MZ. Currently the game is nowhere near where the MV version was, content wise, but it's far more stable than the MV version ever was foundationally.

holyshit what a blast from the past, I remember seeing this one all the time over 5 years ago haha. What is going on with all these devs making a comeback right about now. Midnight paradise getting an update soon after a whole year, Truebond got an update after nearly a year, this dude came back after multiple years, freeloading got final update after a year. I read somewhere people mentioning other projects also rising from the dead. But for how long though? Dont wanna get my hopes up yet. Makes me wonder what other surprises are around the corner. Oh man oh man.

I've been playing your game from the very get go. I've always liked what you've created. Your game definitely adds a variety rather than the same old stuff you find here. It's good to see you back on the horizon with the same passion as before. I'll check out your new update and leave you a review. Thanks for the update good sir.

I've always loved the concept behind the game, so it's really good to see it back among the living!

That said ...
.. I play on a very old gaming laptop, and a few of the dungeon areas make it way too slow.

Also I think I've run into a couple of bugs!

If you bought a pickaxe from the smithy there won't be one there to find.

If more people report that the respawns are a problem I'll increase the respawn timer. This is why I need feedback so I know what works and what doesn't. Since I know where everything is and exactly what to do the experience is innately easier for me.

Glad you found the right rock, I may consider making them glow slightly or putting some type of sparkle on them. However, that'll impact the performance of the map even more so I'll wait on more feedback before I decide on changing that or not. For now though I'll go back and modify the guide to specify players look for the purple rocks, not crystals. I can see how that might be confusing.

Yeah, I've tried to optimize it the best I can but... Some areas are just like that. I could've made the dungeon into separate maps but I wanted to keep the original feel. I'll be making smaller maps in the future though because I have also noticed the performance issues.

Seriously, thanks for the feedback. If you run into any more issues let me know!

The problem wasn't that they're rocks. I was trying to harvest different brown rocks. Between the scene being very dark, and the "fog" above the landscape I wasn't sure those rocks weren't supposed to be purple.
My suggestion would be to reduce the amount of false rocks, and maybe tweak their color a bit. Make them a lighter grey to make it more obvious they're NOT purple.
I was also trying to mine both the rocks and the crystals on top of the walls, so maybe change those props into something that can't be confused with "purple rock" ? (yeah OK the crystals are pink, but hey .. old laptop display - can't be sure I have the same definition of a color as the author).

One legit issue I ran into is the save function wasn't restored after exiting the temple, so I couldn't save after completing the update. I'd used a save editor to give myself a lot more "energy drinks", and various cure potions, which also shifted the names of all the characters, so that may have somehow screwed up that part, but I can't see how that should be related.

Over all though it seems the engine update is a good thing. While there are kinks there seem to be WAY fewer issues than the first version of the game. I really hope we'll soon be able to chase the other girls the game (again .. supposedly, but I had too many issues with plugins etc. to actually get further than the "ritual" in the old engine).

Ah, yeah, I think different displays are playing a part with the coloration of the rocks. I'll see if I get anymore feedback before deciding if/how I want to change that.

Heh. Forgot to enable saving on exiting the dungeon. Just fixed that but it's not game breaking and there is nothing to do, besides fighting I guess, after finishing the dungeon so I'm not going to worry about putting a hotfix out for it. So for other people that may be reading this, just save at the crystal near the entrance after finishing the dungeon and it'll be fixed in the next update.

On a side note, for people that have gotten to the dungeon and are running short on items. If you followed the walkthrough you should've met the "Tonpussy". It's also in the dungeon, if you met it previously, and if you bought or at least looked at Yenn's shop it will sell you her potions. Or at least it should've... but I just checked and while the choice is there I haven't actually added her shop to it.... Whoops! That'll be fixed in the next version too. In that case, you should just tell it that you can't see it when you meet it since it's useless in the dungeon for now.

Outside of the few bugs, I'm glad this version has been more stable for you. Thanks for playing the update!
