You know nothing Jon Snow!
Sorry, couldn't resist.
This all depends on who is doing the port; if it's the dev then yes, if it's someone else then you might have to wait.
LOL, you're surprisingly the first person to use that line.
Yeah, I know the dev tried working on it a while back. The66 was porting it for a bit, but seems like he stopped for some reason. Haven't reached out for the reason yet, probably won't even ask. He's already doing a lot.

Hi Clickbate12, welcome. It seems like you haven't read the previous pages on this thread (and with 148 of them, who could really blame you?*) Don't worry, the pregnancy thing is known to the dev and you're not the first one to experience such inconvenience. For now, it is recommended you just turn off the "kink", as no character's story is advanced enough to fully use this feature.

*I do, but I'm an ass anyway.

If it's what I think is, dev is aware of the bug and is working on it.

The art and the story are pretty great.

But Lupita being bolivian just triggers me to no end. The name isn't bolivian, cocain has never been bolivia's thing and why in god's name does she ask for a fucking Tequila?!?!?

She is a mexican stereotype, why are they making her bolivian?

No, I am not from bolivia.

Bolivia is known for cocaine since everyone in that region (North Argentina/Bolivia/Peru) uses the coca leaf either in tea or just chewing it. used that way it only has like 1% the effect of inhaling processed cocaine and none of the adverse effects. coke leafs are obviously legal since it's a millenary tradition, not the processed powder though. the drug cartels are not big compared to Mexico or USA but there's production of it.

why tequila? why not? she could ask for chicha but i don't expect the MC to have any. tequila is as popular a beverage as beer or vodka or rum in Bolivia. i don't even know what you're expecting here...

You must not be Bolivian because if you were you'd know that Boliva was and may still be the third largest producer of Coca in the world and that Spanish is one of their official languages. But if you were a non-Mexican Spanish speaker you would know that Lupita is a diminutive form of Guadalupe, (Guadalupe being a title for the Virgin Mary based on the "Valley of the Wolf" in Spain where there is a shrine to her. Chris Columbus actually named an island Santa María de Guadalupe in her honor....years before Mexico was called Mexico). Rosales, her last name, is from the Spanish plural for "rose", also not entirely Mexican.

As for Tequila, I'm from Iowa and I like Scotch (never been to Scotland). I also like Sake (never been to Japan) and I'm a BIG FAN of Kentucky Bourbon (been there though...). A person's choice of alcohol doesn't have anything to do with their origins...that is of course unless you are stereotyping someone.

My suggestion, do a Google search before you go all social justice warrior on the internet cause this author tries to do some actual fucking research before he writes shit.

As an aside: I chose Lupita because one, her motherhood plays an important part of her character (like the Virgin Mary), and two because if you buy into cosmological/hippie shit, the name Lupita is defined as so - "People with this name are excellent at analyzing, understanding, and learning. They tend to be mystics, philosophers, scholars, and teachers. Because they live so much in the mind, they tend to be quiet and introspective, and are usually introverts. When presented with issues, they will see the larger picture. Their solitary thoughtfulness and analysis of people and world events may make them seem aloof, and sometimes even melancholy."

I guess I could also add that three, I chose Bolivan because I wasn't interested in a Mexican stereotype and it gave me an excuse to explore a new culture and write some interesting backstory for her character.

I'm actually very interested in your "planner" feature. I'm trying to add a "notebook" that should cover the basics of a branch heavy VN (story, characters, stats, etc.) and am curious to see how yours takes its place into the game.

Sounds good. How do you intend to integrate Roger's alignement into this menu?
I'm hoping it will act as an in-game database. A place to record and review all the decisions you've made, as well as offer additional story insight and details about the various characters (as if you hadn't noticed, I'm big on characterization so I jump at any chance to dump more of that into the game. =P).

I'm hoping to program a little cheat menu that lets you set the character alignments so that when you jump to a scene, you will have whatever foundation you are looking to play with. Still need to design the UI for all of the characters stats, but the objects are there, just gotta make them easier to access for the player.

Honestly, that planner looks so good, it will almost be worth starting over.
I hope so...cause you know...you'll need to.

I don't know if you said this or not, but it would be interesting if the "planner" was actually the notes of Dr. Amana instead of the MC ... You know - like a shrink does in the office.
An intriguing thought, but I want to keep most of that dialogue in the up and coming "therapy sessions" where the Doctor actually talks to Roger and probes deeper into his motivations. These will be optional scenes that really only add to the character detail and don't advance the story.

Working on that. For now just turn it off and I'll have it fixed by the next release (I'm not releasing a patch because the system has been tightened up a little bit more and I've had to move through every scene to update the code.)

Figured to add a bit of levity.
When I was putting together the demo screen I was trying to think of something sly, but witty. I'd be lying if I said this wasn't the song that went through my head. Lol. "I love it when you call me Big Poppa" is some shit we've been saying since high school. Don't know why, it just always stuck. =D

Look man I don't mean to offend you, the game is pretty good. But she doesn't feel bolivian and I stick by that. I am not saying this out of some social justice desire to prove you wrong, so I'll try to phrase it in a constructive way. I am from Chile, so it's not like I have a perfect knowledge on bolivians, but we do have a lot of them in here.

Guadalupe is a spanish name, but it's most popular in mexico and by a lot because of how important Santa maria de Guadalupe is to them. Bolivia has strong ties to their native american origins, so a native american name or lastname would feel more in order.

Didn't know our neighbours produced so much coke, kudos to them I suppose. Still, if you are from Bolivia and in search for better oportunities you don't usually go to the US, unless you have money. Going to the US is pretty expensive and can be hard. Whereas going from bolivia to chile, or viceversa, is so easy you barely need a passport. But I guess this one is more of a posible plot-hook.

And the tequila is not a problem in and of itself. But if I add it up with the rest it becomes Guadalupe Rosales who came to the US in search of a better future, is a single mother, her husband got in trouble with coke and her drink of choice is tequila. Tequila being a typicall mexican drink.

You said that you aren't interested in the typical mexican stereotype, but this feels like that. One of the most common Mexican names, single mother, criminal husband and with tequila on top.

Now honestly this isn't really that important. It just irks me a lot.

It's not unfamiliar to parts of Bolivia, though:

Didn't know our neighbours produced so much coke, kudos to them I suppose.
This has been reported for decades, especially publicized when they kicked out US drug enforcement groups to favor coca plantation owners (in order to protect their traditions with the plant.) Meanwhile, Bolivia's cocaine exports have risen for years.

Still, if you are from Bolivia and in search for better oportunities you don't usually go to the US, unless you have money.
Bolivians still emigrate to the USA (well, under the current political regime, maybe not so much today), and it's been not only those with money or to become naturalized:

And the tequila is not a problem in and of itself
On this I disagree: tequila is a Mexico-centric drink. Singani is Bolivia's national liquor and is coincidentally produced in a manner that's similar to tequila:

Now honestly this isn't really that important. It just irks me a lot.
This statement is its own contradiction.

Overall, I think the character and her backstory works in that it suspends disbelief, but it has a little whitewashing of Latin American tones, sure. Nothing horrible and definitely doesn't intrude on the story at all, from what I can see.

Everyone learns from their efforts, as well: getting other-culture aspects "correct" for different perspectives is tough and an attempt was made. The movie Moana took years of research and collaborative work with local cultural representatives who contributed greatly to its symbols, images, characters, etc. and it *still* pissed off some people who said they knew better.

I think RomanHume went over the top in reply and don't appreciate all points that were attempted, but you should look at your responses, as well. I usually don't go for "both sides do it," but in this case the shoe seems to fit.

I'm recently starting to play this game and find to many transparant (missing) images in the story.
Putting it aside and hoping the Game Developer will fix those issues soon enough before I continue with playing the game.

If you want things fixed, don't you need to bring them up? Show exactly where these missing images are so he can fix them? I didn't run into any but you may have taken a different path.

Just for clarification, the transparencies are the result of a renpy upgrade some versions ago. When this game was originally built, renpy defaulted blank screens to black. So those "missing images" were meant to be black screens where the story transitioned into a new scene. Some updates ago, Renpy changed it so that the default screen was transparent instead of black. That is why you're seeing those.

I will get around to filling those in with something now that the black screen default is no longer a thing, it just hasn't been a priority. Unless your game is telling you specifically that it can't find an image or give you an image name, then the screen was intended to be black.

Cheers mates.

It seems that you are the one interested in Mexican stereotypes and you are the one that keeps pushing it. I am from Mexico and I hate Tequila
