Finally had the chance to play through this and I'm glad the old saves never worked because it was certainly worth playing all over again, think my favourite scenes are the Nanami scenes you can cut that tension with a knife but I really enjoy their sex scenes, would like to see more of the wife though haven't really had much with her except some bathtub fun ;) one of those many games were I'm enjoying all the women all of them are great and we really are spoiled for choice with them. Great job on this update despite all the mishaps you've had I really enjoyed this the wait was worth it.

Truly appreciate your input mate and I'm glad the wait was worth it. Now that all the gui enhancements and stuff are done and I'm focusing on content creation, these next few should, with all luck, come a lot quicker!

And now, for a spot of news!

Bugs
As far as the exception causing bugs, I believe we've squashed most of them. There are a few places where Roger's name is still hard coded. As those are pointed out I'll be quick to fix them for the next update.

The animations will remain wonked for the time being. This isn't so much a bug as it was a result of me upping the resolution of the game. I'm not going to expend time at the moment re-rendering those animations because the old sex scenes will be upgraded with the new sex menu in due time.

Android Version
This continues to be a vexing issue. Try as I might, I cannot even get a successful build. And the only error message I have to go on is (no error message).

FAILURE: Build failed with an exception.
* What went wrong:
Execution failed for task ':app:packageRelease'.
> org.gradle.tooling.BuildException (no error message)

If anyone has any ideas, by all means, shoot them my way.

I'll continue to work on it, but for the moment I'm going to put it on the back burner and push forward with the next update.

Music
I know some people have been reporting static issues with the music. I've run some tests and the issues appears to be with the coded volumes I set to try and normalize the music. I can fix it by going through all music and dropping everything down in tandem a notch or two. I'll sprinkle this work throughout next week and get a music patch out when it's done.

Live Stream
Now that the update is out, I've got a little breathing room. I'd like to start doing the Daz live streams again. I'm thinking once a month we'll slate a Tuesday or Wednesday for this and have a little fun with our girls.
I believe next up is a wallpaper of Amanda dominating Nanami for the hell of it. =P

What's Next
Work has begun on the next update. Currently, I have Amanda, Cassie and Emily written and mostly coded. The render work is what needs to be hammered on and I've already begun with that.

To help spread the love and get content for all the girls out faster, I'm going to see about completing things in half chapters like we did with Nanami. With that thought in mind, I hope to see a 5 scene release of Amanda content, followed by 5 scenes of Cassie and 5 scenes of Emily. After which, we'll circle back around and finish up Amanda, Cassie and Emily in order. This is tentative and assuming I can find clean breaks between erotic scenes (My goal is to make sure each release has a healthy dose of erotic content).


That's about all I have for now. I have a few more things to disseminate but they deserve their own posts. So after I've finished thinking through the next couple of things, I'll drop that information as well.
For now, I'm on to render some Amanda!

Im stuck after nanamis 3rd chapter. No stories left, no comment from the doctor. Just the picture of her. Any ideas?

RomanHume congrats on having your game voted on the featured games list on the F95zone main page. Hopefully more people see and enjoy your game and maybe support it if possible. I enjoyed your game and the many characters in Roger/MC's love life and sexcapades, like Nanami, Jane, Cassie ...something? (right?), and Lola. Curious to see how Roger/MC get himself out of his dilemma.

The most common issue is that the builder runs out of memory. People solved it by setting these values:

that is the initial and maximal memory allocation pool for the Java Virtual Machine. The default is 512, if I have read the docs correctly.
The building process is more likely to stop if high-res images are used, because higher RAM is needed.

I appreciate the follow up, and as far as I can tell, it is correct. In a similar suggestion in a DM I was advised to raise it to org.gradle.jvmargs=-Xmx6g.

Which did solve the issue of compiling. My new problem is that it compiles and "seems" to install on my phone correctly. But when I run it, I get the renpy logo for a short while and then it just shuts down. So now I gotta work on debugging it on a device.

So the quest for Android goes on, but I've worked on it all I can for tonight. I'll come back to it this weekend and try again. Appreciate the help! Cheers mate!

I want to say that I was a player long before I was a developer, so I completely empathize with the frustration that you're feeling. It's one of the unfortunate parts about being on this side of the process, weighing whether or not the long term benefits of a change outweigh the aggravation it may cause players during implementation. I used to weigh those decisions quite heavily but at the moment, I've decided the best thing I can do is go full force with the changes I want to make so that in the long term, there is little no additional game breaking inclusions I can make.

And if it makes you feel better, I am close to the point of accepting that the level of tech I'm adding is nearing it's apex. The only two things I really want to do, is restructure the character class to rely on inheritance so that side characters that don't require all the additional stats won't have them, as well as create a "character sheet" of sorts that when turned on allow players to manipulate all of a character's stats. A cheat mode sort of thing. My goal is to have those incorporate in the next couple of releases and then after that, I think I'm done in terms of enhancements.

So to your point, I'm hoping the end is near on that front. I'm glad that you enjoy the game and appreciate that you care about it enough to let me know what you think. And I have to believe that in 12 months time I will have streamlined everything I possibly can and will have nothing short of a very stable foundation going forward.

Again, I appreciate you sounding off your frustration and I hope that in the long run, this period of growing pains will fade into distant memory.

And for anyone who cares to know or understand why all this change is happening. I come from a background in analytics and data science. I program extensively in R and in Python for that purpose. So while coding this game is definitely within my comfort zone, I find myself having to think about data structures in a whole new way that I'm only now getting a grip on.

Because I know what the long term prospects of my project are, I'm trying to lay a lot of groundwork now so that things will fall into place perfectly later. One such example is the customer character class I use in my game. I've always known that I wanted to make more than one game. And I've known that when the time comes to make another, I'll want to export your decisions and the attitudes of these characters as you left them so that they appear as side characters in another game in exactly the same way. The easiest way to handle that import/export of characters is through a self contained object that has the entire history of that character.

But the challenge of creating that character class is not completely knowing which stats I'll want to track and which character "types" require which stats. So it's a bit of an evolution to create this character class in a way that it captures everything I want, but is simple and efficient enough that I can slap it into the code without bugs or exceptions haunting the methods and attributes. For what it's worth, I feel like I'm almost there and have gone so far as to include a few generic lists in there just in cast I think of something else.

So for what it's worth, each time I change the code and destroy compatibility, it's with a long term vision in mind and the objective of never having to change/break it again. A ton of shit was added in this last update, mechanically speaking. I have more I want to add in the next, and maybe one or two in the update after that. Beyond that horizon, it should be right where I want/need it to be to move forward and just add chapters and scenes going forward.

This my friends is the goal! If people are willing to just hang in there with me a little more, I think the end result will look good from the front as well as the back.
