Great Update.

Is it intended that you can be on top with Nanami after elsewhere picking all the submissive choices?
For the time being yes. We felt it was maybe too early to lock the player into one role or the other. We wanted to provide an opportunity for people to change their minds in the first few sequences until they find the role they want to pursue.

In later scenes the accumulation of submission or dominance may either lock you into a path, or change the variation in a scene, we haven't quite decided yet. Either way, it will be impactful.

Played v. 0.7.1
Very well written and the stories are very interesting and different from each other depending on the character. Also within each one you can choose at least 2 paths. It manages to leave with desire of much more which is quite an achievement.
It shows in the Devs planning and passion which always improves.
The renderings are very good and there is a great variety of characters, which can be chosen or passed.
Maybe I would like the paths to cross a little more, but at this stage it may not be possible or perhaps, to maintain the possibility of choice, never do so.

On the topic of character cross-over, we hope to incorporate much more of that as the story progresses. Unlike other devs, our 'alpha' is really the first draft of our script. We are feeling the story out and figuring out how each of these characters gets to the ending we've planned. There will be some crossover in the alpha for sure. But when we finally hit beta, that will be where we go back, clean up the scenes and do some re-rewrites that will allow for much more cross-over plot lines.

So we definitely intend to incorporate more of that, it's just difficult to predict too much this early in the draft.

I've played several versions of this and while the options grow, no matter which path I've tried it always ends at the same point. I think this needs a walk-through.
Due to forum feedback we have decided that we will indeed put a walkthrough together, but unfortunately not until we enter beta.

We anticipate a lot of the options and coding will expand and change between the alpha and the beta. So for the moment it doesn't make much sense for us to document a detailed walkthrough that will be scrapped and rewritten when we complete alpha. Right now whatever time we aren't dumping into development we are using to improve our Ren'py and Daz skill set.

So please hang in there with us. A walkthrough is coming, just not until we've matured this brew a little more.

Very welcome. In fact looking at probably moving a pledge before next month. You're a frontrunner for the replacement ;) as in to you that is not away from. Only a buck probably but it'll get ya an extra cup of shitty coffee from a gas station or something :D
To us, pennies matter. It all adds up in the end and we are grateful for any amount someone is willing to invest in our project.

And actually, we have Wawa here and a $1 coffee there ain't bad at all. Jokes aside though, each of us is employed full-time and have careers we are quite happy with. So any money invested in our project, goes right back into it. Hardware upgrades for future animations, faster renders, etc. Digital assets like models, locations and training videos.

One day we might have enough Patreon income to hire a full time coder which would allow us to focus on story development, but for the time being, all income gets reinvested directly in the project. Something we hope people feel good about.

Top options are the love options and the 2nd ones are the not so love/corruption ones. Both should have different dialog and some should have different animations as well. It's best to go one route love and another save for all not love/corruption but don't jump back and forth.
This is most definitely the sure-fire way to experience all of the content.

We are thinking when we get to beta we might color code the two choices for clarity. Blue for nice guy, red for tough guy. Similar to some older BioWare games.

I may not post alot in general here, but I really love the game. Most of all, I respect you lots about how active you are at replaying to questions/conserns etc. I'm already a 15$ patreon so that alone tells alot :)

My only complaint is that the character selection is getting a tad oversized and cluttered. Especially since some scenes are dependent on having done previous scenes, it might be a good idea to hide those until you finish that scene in particular.

On the topic of Dominance part of the story. Since I love playing games that let me dominate the girls I want to fuck, either forced or conceptual, my wishes are only to have the option to dominate as many of them as possible (Building a Harem is cream on top of the ice for me and adding pregnancy is the cherry on top).

Other than that, all I wanted to say was just, keep up the work you are doing and I can't wait for more from you guys.
First off, thank you for your investment! It means a lot to us.

Second, I don't think we ever considered we would have this much direct dialogue with players of the game. I think any developer who isn't taking advantage of this kind of interaction with their players is missing a golden opportunity for improvement and feedback.

So on to the discussion of the character menu, all I can say is YES, I completely agree. But for the alpha it's an ugliness we are kind of tolerating. We previously played with some coding that removed characters who either didn't have scenes, or whose scenes needed to be played in a specific order. The problem we quickly discovered is that updating those menus between releases was a bear, and it led to one particularly embarrassing release where Jane's scenes were locked out if you played Monica first.

But rest assured, this is something we are going to clean up in the beta. The reason we are waiting until then is because at that point the story will be 80% fleshed out and we'll have final version of the scene sequences available that will allow us to go through and program the menu once without the need for painstaking continual updates.

Our final vision of the menu is very much what you've suggested. A menu that will continually change to show which stories you can continue. And if one story relies on a previous character's scene to occur first, that option won't even appear until all prior conditions are met. This makes navigation easier and clearly shows you which scenes must occur first. It is just hard to do right now because it opens up too many opportunities for buggy releases in the alpha (as we have embarrassingly encountered already).

And finally, to touch on the dominance part of the story, we get what you're saying, we really do. But we want to be careful that first, we stay true to the character concepts that we've drawn up for the love interests. For some of the characters, if we are believing in their personalities, just wouldn't go for it. For instance, based on what we've written about Monica, it's more likely she'd choke hold a dude before she lets him dominate her. BUT...we also know that is a popular fetish (among ourselves as well, I love the stuff DataDog is doing with Nanami), so we are absolutely going to make sure we include it in certain situations.

But harem building is absolutely on the table. It's just more strategic where the main character is adjusting his tactic to align with his sexual targets. We don't want any love interest to deny access to any other until the very end. At which point this house of cards could come crashing down, or if handled delicately, kept aloft indefinitely. But we're saving all of that for the climax. So until then, harem on!

I kinda get your point but I also understand that for story reasons they might want to have X happen before Y.


That's actually not a bad idea, could have for example red if you need to do something before and become clear/light gray when all is finished.
Because there are certain themes that overlap between scenes and because we want to build cross-over, there have been a couple of times we wanted to enforce a sequence to the different scenes, if only because some things might not make sense if they weren't in a chronological order. Or there may be dialogue that seems vague without a previous scenes completion.

But we will clean this up once we have a clearer picture of the final plotlines, where they intersect, etc. One of the top priorities for the beta is cleaning up the menu and the gui in general.

Usually I only care about the story to a certain extent and you are one of the few where story vs sexual rewards is quite balanced even in this early release. I also realize that I can't dominate every girl in a game, but already having the option to dominate some of them and even allow for harem building, you have me hooked now :)

Are you going to stick with the same model for Monica? I recall that you had said at one point that your team was considering changing it.
Once we hit 100 patrons we're going to do a casting poll and offer up three potential models for Monica.

We figure at 100 patrons, if we have at least 40% respond we have a statistically significant sample to make a decision.

We are thinking that depending on Patron count, when we make our next game we'll do a casting call for all the characters. We just think it's a fun idea letting the readers choose who the actors in the story are going to be.

1. Lupita. I don't really know why. She looks sweet, gentle but also flirty. I am really looking forward to know her more.
2. Emily. The wife, the passion. I'm a sucker for those.
3. Amanda. Not much content for now, but she looks sweet. A bit like Lupita maybe.
4. Monica. An athletic woman. Me Gusta! :D
5. Jane. She's tough, yes, but she's trying a bit too hard, no?
6. Nanami. Damn this woman is cold.
7. Cassie. Father/Daughter incest are not my favorite kink.

But you're right, that is a lot of women to keep up with. This is one reason we aren't too strict with the timeline. This story could be presumed to play out over several months or a year.

And the complexity of all these relationships is another reason we structured the story like we did. Originally, we had intended to follow a more linear day by day play through the character's life. But with so many options, managing it all became a nightmare even during conception. It created problems with transitioning between one scene and the other, and made it difficult to mix up the story if you chose to bypass certain characters. The whole thing quickly felt like Roger just running around non-stop without a minute of downtime.

Then we thought up the therapist approach. This way we can focus on the parts of the character's relationship that are interesting, and players can skip characters whose models or fetishes they aren't attracted to. It was a win-win. And for certain characters, like Emily, we can always assume there are interactions occurring between scenes, they just aren't interesting enough for Roger to tell the Doctor about.

And the best thing is we can recycle the format for a new game. Once we finish this first game about Roger, we are looking at a new character with seven new love interests. We are really drawn to doing a police officer MC with a whole set of good cop/bad cop dialogue choices. Just gotta finish this game first.

Although I have to say these guys are awesome with their character creation I'd say we have enough for now. They also need some evaluation and you always have to keep in mind that this is just case 1 and there are more, different stories to follow.

We actually started with thirteen and quickly realized that was an ambitious target. We fell into this trap where we kept falling in love with models and the characters we were creating for them. Eventually we decided to save those models and characters for a later game. It was a tough call cutting the cast down to the tidy seven we have now. But seven is more than enough to keep up with.

Ultimately it came down to production time. Too many characters meant we could spend more than two years working on this game, and we don't want that. We have too much creative energy and wicked ideas to milk one game for as long as possible. We want to write it, finish it, and move on.

My hope is that in five years time we've created a great series of games. I look forward to the challenge of writing new stories with new characters that are fresh and different than what we've done. But we also don't want to leave anything half-assed or unfinished. So yeah, seven is a good number!

We have tossed around so many ideas at this point that I think we could be doing this for the rest of our lives. Some of the other MC concepts we'd like to do are:
  • Law Enforcement Officer
  • High School Teacher
  • Professional Athlete
  • Politician
  • Professional Musician
  • Secret Agent
  • Cruise Ship Captain
  • Airline Pilot
  • Private Eye
And these are just the ones I recall talking about. We have a list floating around someone we keep updating. So many stories to explore! Lol.
