VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Dr. Amana, Sexual Therapist [v2.0.0P] [Ianvs]

Multiple storylines, while each scene is highly focused. Characters have distinct personalities and each brings their own set of challenges/benefits to both the immediate plot and longer, interweaving storylines. You have choices on how deep to go with any character and can even decide to go trans or not. Unique and highly original character naming, review and "cheat mode" capabilities. Finally, the Dev has gone through a lot and achieved a great deal on persistence alone - now, we're seeing the benefits of all that earnest work. He's also extremely engaged with the fans and supporters. This is an easy five stars.

Not gonna lie probably the best western writing I saw.
The pathing looks good, I hope this quaility keeps up until the end.
Saw a couple of visual and sound disruptions but that was likely the fault of the compressed version, so you should use the normal download.

Holy hell this was good.

I try not to play unfinished games but saw it on the frontpage and figured what the hell as it sounded great. I really enjoyed it, the girls are hot (thankfully no balloon tits), and the story compelling. I appreciate that it shows what way different conversation choices will go an a pop up for the change in stats (sometimes it alters a different character's one to the person I'm talking to) I like that it won't need a mod for that. The sex is also better done than it seems during the first 2 scenes as you can later on chose positions and things. I'll definitely play the full release of this.

Only downsides I can see so far is that, 1) the audio seems to pop and crackle on certain backing tracks a bit (and I don't think that's on my end)... and 2) It seems like you may be semi forced to clear off all the encounters rather than just ones you want ... like I read every line of text (which is rare for me - shows how good it is) but I quickly realised I had 0 interest in the gym woman so I skipped through that and probably would like to ignore her completely in the future.

One suggestion would be, that before the fetish questionnaire there should be an option to say "I'll have any and everything" so that if you're not fussed about whatever might be in store you won't spoil it for yourself (and hopefully there's more fetish content later than the 3 choices in it, but I'm guessing maybe not as only 1 occurred in the current version anyway).

But yeah I'll def play the full release of this... probably with a bit of a sneaky peek at a walkthrough as I wasn't sure what some stats meant ... like right at the start with the Dr's doubt - doubt about what, what would that lead to ... or the Arthur's revenge stat, even when it wasn't increasing the boss lady's submissiveness I still went with whatever pissed that dude off because I didn't like him - but is that my revenge against him that's going up or his revenge against me - I might be wary about pushing that too far.

Gutted I didn't get to fuck my daughter or the shy girl though... hopefully I'll be able to make that whole friendship group go nuts and bang each other and stuff though.

Dr. Amana, Sexual Therapist is one of the most promising erotic VNs currently being developed. The writing is good, the characters are interesting and unique in their own ways, and the CGs are top tier quality. I'm really looking forward to the finished version.

One of the few games for which I didn't even consider giving less than 5 stars.

Apart from the beautiful renders/models, one of the things that make Dr Amana special to me is how well the dialogues are written. While the game doesn't forget to be porn in all its glory (which is important ;] ), the characters still have a "je ne sais quoi" that makes them relatable, I'd even dare to say genuine. Generally games with this quality are walls of texts in return, but surprisingly Dr Amana doesn't have this problem: I never thought even once there were too many dialogues, the amount is standard but really they are well-written. One example of that is my favorite conversation so far, in the kitchen when Cassie talks with her father about what you know, (but maybe I just liked it for other reasons too).

I appreciate the clear choice you have between two routes for each characters, and how different most are (lot of kinks represented). The two girls with a (kind of) corruption route available happen to be my two favorite characters (Cassie/Amanda), coincidentally a perfect theme for me since I really like corruption.
I find most characters very good, but I confess the three students are my favorites. I like even simple scenes if the 3 are together, like when MC casually hung out with them in the pool scene, just naturally. I hope there'll be other scenes of them all talking and doing things together like that.
The main plotline is more about corporate espionage and I liked it too, but that slice of life aspect is also essential for me.

Interestingly, you can set from the start if some fetishes available in the game will be included in your playthrough or not. The downside is that it kind of spoils you that notable events with those fetishes will happen, but I still think it's the best choice so that most people can enjoy the game without problem. Glad to learn there'll be pregnancy btw, as for the ntr theme I faintly hope it might include a sharing possibility and not just cheating in a confrontational way.

I didn't expect to write so much, time for me to stop. To sum it up: it's a great game, a rather unique experience. I'm looking forward to see the continuation, no matter how long it takes (quality is more important).

Definitely one of my top 3 favorites. Unique models, original game system, best writing, as other reviews will also attest. Give Ianvs money so this thing keeps progressing. If completed with the same care and vision, Dr Amana will be one of the best of the genre, an example of the potential of Adult Visual Novels. How long to render it in VR?

I am stuck between giving this game a 3 and 4 star rating. I think I'm more in the 3.5 but I can't give half stars.

The story is good, and enjoyable ... even if I do skim over some parts of it.
All the renders are pretty great, the animations both in the early part and the later part are good ... I really hate the 'choose your position' stuff though, it's a bit buggy to click on and maybe if there was more than 2-3 options in there it might be a useful thing ... but it's like 'the alley or the car'
then the alley maybe has 2 things and the car 1 ... and then there's no cum shots in any of these? Maybe I couldn't figure out how to get it ... but it seems really weird to me that game that has potential pregnancy stuff does not have cumshots. (If I'm wrong and I just can't figure out how the buggy sex system works let me know and I will happily update this part.)

I also want to talk about the Trans scene, if you aren't interested then this doens't apply to you ... but I do enjoy trans stuff on occassion (not my main kink, but if the girl is hot the girl is hot, and being bisexual I have no issue with a cock) ... but like again no cumshot was so dissapointing, also the fake out of it seeming like maybe you can blow her but then it's licking her butt ... if you're gonna do a trans woman just go all the way, let me blow her... let her blow me, and double fucking cum shot please ... I want mine and her cum all over her perfect tits.

Anyway it's a pretty good game and if you enjoy story then you'll enjoy this quite a bit.

I very good visual novel. Only problem is when talking to Lita in the elevator, I started asking questions and noticed the friendzone counter click up when I asked question. I try to redo bu go back, but the choices had already been made. This would be find except you can back button to undo red vs blue choices, it is more about the inconsistancy then anything else.

Also I want Lita as main girl. To me she is the hottest and I love a girl with a plan. Foresight is so hot!

The writing in this VN is so masterful that I cannot give it anything less than 5 stars.

Before I get into the review, I would like to address the only negative thing I can say about this game. Other than the scratching distortions in the audio, the biggest problems are the sex scenes.

There's no dialogue during scenes. The early scenes which were probably done when the team was bigger pretty much just lets you cycle through some animations with no text at all. It has smooth and decent animations (currently a bug makes the videos kinda small, but whatever), but this type of sex scenes are the worst you can find in porn games. Without any text, It's entirely unfappable. Towards the end, there is a new system for sex scenes which has more potential. In these scenes, there are at least a some minimal descriptive text as it plays out your chosen position and location. However, there are still no dialogue.

I believe all members of the team quit at this point, and the writer took over coding and rendering. The scenes that use the newer sex system don't have animations. It uses a slideshow technique to simulate movement. This may put off some people, but I actually think its an opportunity for the dev. The current dev is a writer first and foremost and my god, is the writing good in this game. Leverage that skill and write some sexy dialogue during the scenes. Good kinky dialogue gives more eroticism to a scene than some 8k 120fps high res animations ever could. Draw the scenes out with more descriptive text and sexual banter rather than relying on some poorly animated loop. Make use of multiple stills from various angles and multiple positions. We already know the dev can write erotic fiction, because all the shit leading up to the actual sex is way hotter than the currently wordless sex that plays out.

With that out of the way, I'll get into the actual review.

The hook: This is a story all about how my life got flipped-turned upside down.... Ok sorry about that. But the hook is basically that your life got fucked after a corporate gambit backfired and you are talking to your therapist about the fallout. This works surprisingly well as a narrative tool.

The story: The main plotline revolves around some juicy corporate espionage. The side stories revolve around various women in your life that are being affected by your spiraling mental state. The story with the girls have some great build up and pacing. The main corporate plot is gripping to say the least.

Gameplay: You tell a portion of your story to the therapist by selecting a girl. As the story plays out, you make choices usually between red and blue. Red is the hot headed, angry, sexual, corrupting type. Blue is the caring, calm, beta, loving type of responses. Each girl and NPC has their own version of red and blue stats. One girl responds to red by gaining submission. Another one by gaining corruption. Its different for everyone and its all shown in the very well made planner book thing.

The writing: Some of the best writing I've seen on this site. By far the strongest aspect of this game. The writing is very much grounded in reality. At no point did I think a character's response to a situation or dialogue was questionable. Everyone stays in character and everyone IS such a character. They are all so interesting in their own way, even the side characters. At the hands of a lesser writer, the red/blue system might have gotten out of hand and kind of devolved into porn logic, but everything plays out extremely naturally here. Picking red choices to corrupt the innocent shy friend of your .... neighbor's.... daughter is still very much in character of an adult giving reasonable advice to a young girl (mostly). It's all very believable and you don't say insane shit that is brushed off by people as if it wasn't ridiculously out of line. MC is very self aware.

The Renders/Models: I love the models. They all seem unique to this game. Haven't seen them in others and they are pretty fantastic. Young teens with petite bodies, Busty maids, Super sexy Asian chick with a constant scowl. Muscle woman. There are variety to experience and the render quality is quite good.

Finally, Dan Allen. I think this side character stole the show in one scene. It was pretty epic.

Honestly, I sympathized with a lot of the dialogue being a college student myself. With my understanding of physics, for example, it was a pleasant surprise for the analogies being applied in a way that isn't straight out of a book. Very few VN's make me reflect on my own life, and this is the life of a 40-something your old! The characters are hot, with something for everyone. Lola is my favorite, and I hope they continue to make interactions with her in the future. Something I can definitely bust a nut to yet something I can enjoy when I don't. That's true immersion and I applaud what has been given so far.

I just wanted to say, I totally enjoy this one. The girls old and young look amazing, always a plus... I started the first part and for a while thought it got abandoned. I'm glad to see it didn't. I've played it thru as blue then red then mixed always something different. I love the add to the story for getting back at the boss but I was also hoping to see a addtition to the girls story also but hey I know it will come. Please continue the great work on this story and I'll be watching, lol. Thank you..

Really good writing. The corporate plot is quite interesting and the characters are all well fleshed out. The renders and animations could be better, but are still nothing to be ashamed of, compared to other games. The models are all pretty. Overall really good game.

Game does deserve 5 stars. Westart with the story being recounted by the protagonist Roger Harrington to his terapist. From there he tells tha tale of how he fights to keep his job against a vindictive, and incompetent, boss while also dealing with some things in a daily life of a married guy with a adult daughter.

From there he revisit all his sexual exploits, all dependant on character choices. Speaking of said sex encounters, they are beautifully rendered, well written and quite plentiful. Two come to my mind:
The first with Jane, the wild girl friend of Roger's daughter and the second with Lola, the hot and passionate transex escort girl.

Definitelly recommended.

as of v 1.07 this game deserves 5 stars. first let's get this out of the way: the animations are not among the best this site has to offer, in fact they are quite bad but that's about it, everything else is top quality. there's many LI, all very diverse, all with great personalities, even the side girls are interesting. the plot seems really good so far and the story telling to the therapist seems very natural. also the mechanic in the sex scenes seems very promising for future scenes. even when i'm not a fan of incest in games i really liked the relation with the daughter, i just hope it doesn't force me into it in next updates.
Jane is so far probably in my top 5 of characters in adult games, the 2 routes are really well written and she's a fantastic character. Lupita, Amanda, Lola and Cassie are also high on my list.

On v1.0.6 this work is already very good, specially for those who love the young girls . I think the pace is perfect right now, not being like sex everytime since beginning, but also not being a boring full dialogue simulator. We basically have 2 paths, so the game is pretty simple to play without a walkthrough. I do believe it will get more branches in the future, but I think it will stay pretty simple to play on future releases.
I first played this game when i first came out, and liked a lot (but it was pretty small). They've remade it some time ago, changing the models, but they are even better now imo, even tho I don't like them all (but that's no problem as we can easily reject them early).

The game will have in the future some fetiches that some peoples enjoy, like pregnancy or NTR. But that can be disabled when you start the game.
The dev seems to interact a lot with his patreon and F95 fans, what i think is very healthy for a project like that, so I believe the game in the future will be a mix between his and his fans ideas.
Wish sucess for the dev and everyone else involved on the project.

edit: About the story idea, I never saw anything like that anywhere, so I believe it's a original one, so another good point about it. Loved how everything that is happening is you actually talking with your doctor.

So I've decided to revisit the game after 2 years and re-review it. And oh boy was I dissapointed. The author barely makes any progress and keeps adding pointless shit which clearly distracts him from devoloping the important parts of the game. If that wasn't enough, the additions either just straight up don't work (lingerie/nude characters option) or just make no goddamn sense (choosing your ethnicity is totally ridiculous since some of the characters are supposed to be related). The game also got worse since the new version barely even takes your choices into consideration. What could've been a great game looks to soon follow the majority and be buried in the piles of mediocrity.

The 'remake' has finally made enough progress that I feel now is the time to give it a review.

The visuals are as good as anything I've seen on this site. The girls are of a good variety of body and personality types . The Red and Blue system (basically a nice guy or corrupting influence which varies slightly from girl to girl) was something I was dubious about at first but it makes it feels like your choices do effect your relationship as well as providing some replay-ability.

In the few months since the remake began they've posted a decent amount of content. If they keep going at this rate then at the end of 2019 the game could truly become one of the very best on the site.

8/10 For now. This game is ginially crafted on the sentiments. I lost the concept of time, and I was impressed. Even though it does not contain almost the power of animation, it is perfect. Very well done for the psychologist. I personally would add excitement. If this game has a future I have no doubt about it. It belongs among the top. Little to improve animation and situations, and accidental incidents will certainly not harm anything.
