Nice stories so far, though they have barely gotten off the ground. I see a lot of disasters being set up, but with the game mechanics so far punishing nothing, I can only wonder how the whole thing will end (and end it must).
We have tentatively envisioned about ten scenes per character before the inevitable conclusion. We have no plans to "milk" this thing because we want to follow up this story with stories of other characters using the same structure and format. Lots of ideas rolling around over.
I'm not a huge fan of the reward tier system. I'm fine with the alternate outfits - and they look good - but I think it should be something like a $10 reward for all of them, instead of $5-$20 for some.
And this is a fair criticism. It turns out, coming up with appropriate rewards is more difficult than we imagined. On the one hand, we want to give something extra to someone who is going to invest $20 hard earned dollars in our project. But we also understand there is a large population who would gladly contribute, but lack the disposable income or hate Patreon altogether and won't do business with them. And so we don't want those people to feel like they are being penalized for not investing in the game.
We came up with the alternate outfit style as a compromise. This allowed everyone to play the same game, at the same time (staggered release dates irritate me), but allowed people at each tier to feel like they were getting a little something extra for their support.
Since development on this game is already up and running, we don't want to change up the reward system right now. But it is something we continue to think about and if we come up with something better, we may implement it at the outset of the next game. We are always open to suggestions.
The intro being devoid of images made me quit the game the first time I started it, and look around to see if I had a corrupt download. That sequence should be fixed, at a minimum.
The character selection menu is overwhelming and not very friendly. I would prefer options disappearing when not available, and not appearing all at once.
When we started we were out of pocket for all of the digital assets and we didn't want to spend what starting money we had populating a doctor's office with only two people in it. Especially when nothing sexy was going to happen there for awhile. Now we are only about 50% out of pocket for the month, so we do have plans to go back and populate the doctor's office. When we hit beta though we'll rewrite that intro to something more appropriate that ties in better with the story. At the time the intro was written, all we had was a concept.
As far as the character menu, it is indeed very bland and unfriendly at the moment. We know that parts of this story will need to follow a sequence as certain character actions need to happen before others. Once we finish the alpha and know exactly how things play out, we can establish a time line. With that time line we can program the menu to only show currently available storylines. We played with removing characters whose stories were finished for the time being, but it lead to extra work between updates and in one case introduced a bug that locked the player out of the game prematurely (because we missed a variable).
So for the moment it's ugly but we do have plans to clean it up closer to beta.
Thanks for giving our game a try though! We appreciate all of the feedback. Keep it coming!
Cheers!
