There is something really weird here, because the dev makes us "see" what Mei thinks like her inner monologues and she really talks like the normal Mei even in that flashback when she arrived at collegue the first day and then she acts all strang, the thing is that usually in narrative when you show how a character thinks is how they really are so i think the dev is breaking that law to trick us or it's just a bad writing? Also most scenes don't change if you choose her or not and if you do, that thing of "this girls are gonna take him away from me" should not go because she is happy that Jason choose her and she never complains about it, so i don't see a reason for her to do what she is doing if she is....
Unrelated but who's the cutie in your profile pic ?

See, that's litteraly the writer admitting bluntly : I know it doesn't make any sense and the lines & characters are terrible but I'm doing it anyway !

Those claiming that the story isn't that bad obviously missed the fact that the writing is really THAT terrible and it's completely deliberate. And that's the big problem because doing something bad deliberately doesn't make the whole thing less bad at all. It's even a bit insulting to be honest :BootyTime:

I think the proper way to enjoy this game is like watching an awful movie like Birdemic, Sharknado or the Room and laugh about it. Because if there's one thing that writer does right, it's making all the character very unlikable.

  • Mei : Like many have already said, Mei has turned into a manipulative and insensitive liar with secret agenda, which makes little sense with the way she was written in the earlier episodes. Honestly, I'm almost expecting an absurd explanation like the real Mei was abduced by aliens and remplaced by a clone, or maybe she was kidnapped by a secret evil twin or something like that. I admit I had a good laugh when she still begged you to take her virginity anyway.
  • Alex : he's still a simp and a psycho but the funniest part is the fact that he hit the MC head with a rock and abandoned him in the middle of the forest at night, then the fact the MC made him taste his own vomit in retribution have been completely forgotten. They both act like nothing happened at all.
  • Lea & Danielle : Once again I've got nothing against slutty or bitchy characters at all, on the contrary. The problem is their own world only evolves around being fucked by the main character. Not only they're absolutely awful to each other for two besties, I'm surprised they haven't killed each other yet because there is not a single scene where they don't insult or try to betray each others. They have zero shred of personality beyond being two selfish horny bitches. Mei returned out of nowhere, the MC and Summer met a serial killer, the cops won't do anything, the former boyfriend came back and almost drowned the main character, Summer is completely wasted but they don't give a damn about anything around them. The sole purpose of their existence is getting dicked by the MC even if you turned them down 3 or 4 times  At this point they're both pathetic

Very good question sweetheart, I don't understand either :HideThePain:
  • Summer : is so far the only one with a normal reaction. There's a killer who knows our adress ? Fuck this shit I'm out ! Unfortunately for her, the MC suddently becomes a cunt who convinced her to get wasted in a bar and can even abandon her in her most vulnerable moment to either have anal sex or being Lea rebound guy ( she even calls you that way :KEK: ).
  • Alice : She was magically present when the MC was thrown in the water ( how convenient ) but she's already showing some signs of obsession. I'm sure there will be a sordid secret about her dad or brother in one or two updates.
  • Even the secondary characters are horrible. The ex boyfriend came out of nowhere and instantly tries to drown you, the drug supplier turned out to be Dannielle ex ( how convenient ) and the cops litteraly tell you that they don't give a crap if someone gets attacked. No just calls us once somebody has died :KEK:
Some would say that it's a bit like a slasher movie. Ok fine but the problem I have with this argument is that in slasher movies the real star and the main focus is usually the killer ( Freddy, Jason, Myers, Chucky, Ghostface, Pinhead, leatherface... ). All the bimbos are just dead meat. Here, let's be honest who give a fuck about the old fart or the simp friend ? :HideThePain:
Poor Lea realizing she's a LI in an AVN

I don’t know if the writer did this intentionally or it's just a writing flaw, but I find the cast so dislikable (Summer is the only one okay-ish) that it makes it impossible to relate to or root for them. All the secrets and hidden agendas are wearing me out.

Again...inspiration directly from 70's and 80's slasher flicks. Seen any of them? Is anyone even remotely good or likeable in those films (talking personality, not the looks of the nubile virginial maidens and college sluts lol)? Rarely...they are all annoying idiots, you watch because you can't wait to see them get diced and how lol. However, you either find that kind of stuff interesting/entertaining or you don't.

Unlike in a film though (even perhaps a book)...the nature of episodic AVN's means it takes a while to get the really good stuff....where as in a film for example, it's maybe 20 minutes and you watch the thing in full, not really taking too much notice to all the bad in the process. I'm pretty sure, if AVN's were complete before being released, there would be far less complaints around as you'd consume the entire 'story' in a sitting or two and not wait years. It's only after you finished you'd realise how bad some parts were etc.

Are you seriously defending this writing ? I mean, you do you, but wow I didn't expect that.

I never said it was good...did I? Neither is the writing (or plots for that matter) in any of the films this takes direct inspiration from, even though I love them. However, maybe unlike many of the people much younger than myself in this thread, I'm not expecting Nolan level of writing/plot and much more expecting (and perfectly happy/content with) Tom Savini level of nonsense, if half of this thread even know who he is and what he has written.

Love shit like that...you'll have no issues with this VN imo.

I mean let's be serious, the writing here is no worse than say, anything Eli Roth writes as an example off the top of my head. He gets paid millions for the shit he writes....

She's seeing them talk one-on-one in the morning at the end of a pier. Especially for someone as wholesome as Alie seems to be, it would appear romantic
That feels like a stretch to me. Friends and siblings could sit down next to each other at a pier. We're not talking about a candlelit dinner. Even so, to cook up a plan like that she would have to be kinda pyscho as well. Which is quite possible given how all the other girls are. lmao.

Very bad episode.

The writing is completely off the mark. Mei is ridiculous from start to finish. The episode is the same regardless of previous choices. The choices at the end in the bar are totally ridiculous.

I'm willing to bet that in the next episode, the potentially serious consequences of this episode's choices will be erased, or rather corrected. (We left a totally drunk friend in a bar, even though we promised to look after her; we ditched a very possessive Danielle to go and sleep with her best friend; we prevented a nutcase from banging Lea (without knowing how, by the way), the said nutcase having already knocked us out in a forest to prevent us from banging her).

I feel like its all related to the MC's ex girlfriend in some way and the jealousy turned Mei into the worst kind of psycho incel ever.

i feel like when the guy who kicked the MC's face said that the MC "stole both of his girls" that the ex-girlfriend was among them and the whole lea/danielle thing just misdirection.

Maybe Mei and facekick-guy incel-bonded back than already as they watched in jealousy how mc and his ex were happy together. Didnt the ex break up with the MC very suddenly and without reason ... ? Wouldnt be surprised if Mei and facekick guy were behind it.

Pretty sure hes the one she called and who drove her to dreamland

Mei indeed seems very sick in the head and its shown very early when not on her path and she starts having these psycho incel thoughts about the mc prefering "dumb sluts" or something like that and this mode got probably amplified due to whatever

Anyway, she sucks ass, she managed to become so much worse than lea and danielle which is quite the achievement.

Like apparently many others here, im sceptical about alice at this point to because of the mei development (and because of alice's weird family), Summer seems to be the only one with normal/human flaws which doenst matter a lot. She will probably be killed first -__-
Tha's a good analysis, it might be, Jacklyn breaking up with the MC after like 15 years of friendship+dating it's strange i mean from one day to another, also how did the douchebag Jay found the MC, how did he recognize him from the back sitting on a random docks with Mei and yes that "both girls" thing is strange, as you say perhaps Mei and Jay know each other and Mei has this cold psycho personality where she thinks she is acting good or correctly but she is not or it's just shitty writing.

I don't think that kind of writing fits here. AVN is more time consuming than a slasher film and I might be wrong but this one is not advertised in a way "it barely makes sense guys". You don't just turn off your brain and watch characters fall one by one. You learn about them a bit and choose with which one you want to get more involved (and then you get a 180 degree rotation of Mei's personality for example).

Regarding comparing it to a complete book or film, we already have 3 chapters of it and if you'd play it from the start you can see that it made some sense at the beginning (maybe besides Summer trusting Lea about MC watching them) but goes downhill at some point. I think dev just gave up on trying for it to be something more than sex scenes with some lines in between.

Yeah this game is ass.
Being here since 0.1 and saw the time it took for 0.2 and already knew that a year would be the default time for this guy even tho there is literally almost no ramification and as others said decissions dont matter from one update to another. This update lasting 20 minutes (even less than last update i think) and the fact that nothing really happened this episode is criminal, the only thing that would be interesting was the final scene if it wasn't because of every fucking character in this game is a psycho and you are used to this. The fact that some of you defend the writing saying that the dev intended it to be like "70' absurd storytelling" is the lamest excuse for saying you dont have any idea of where the story is going and you can't write for shit. Only likeable character as many said is Summer, and Mc lost that privilage in this chapter by being a dumbass and having 0 instincts to gtfo of that place and the dev making us choose to literally dump a drunk friend to her luck (who is the only sane of the group) because you want to fuck between a girl that only sees you a big dicked rebound and a girl that has trust issues and lacks affection because of her "best friend" that treats her like shit (a little biased i like danielle a little). And let's not talk about Mei that did a 180 from prude and innocent to gaslighter "i have no guilt" bitch, she went from indeferent to a cunt in an episode

As a guy said, the best thing to do with this game is play this game laughing, not because it is supposed to make you laugh but because the script is so fucking idiotic you can't take it seriously. And again, even if was made to not be taken seriously, at least make it have some coherence.

So to summarize:
Horrible script.
Horrible developing time per time played in the update.
Great sex scenes, the only reason I keep up with this shit.

Half-jokes aside Summer is okay, but I usually only pick my favorite generally in most AVNs and Lea is by far the best here. She reminds me a lot of Megan Fox back from the 1st Transformers movie, which was definitely her peak
Not gonna lie the Lea-Summer duo is quite funny, I hope it leads to a threesome.

Man the scene at the bar was so stupid, like who the hell would leave his best friend alone who's not feeling well just to chase after some Ho, and when a murderer is creeping around, honestly at this point I'll keep playing this just for Summer, she's hands down the best girl. The only one who's not a psycho like Danielle or a weirdo like Mei, and I never liked Lea anyway. And yeah, I am one of those who're pissed because we didn't get to stay with Summer when she asked, why the hell wouldn't the MC accept?
