$50 a model isn't bad. Maybe if you're poor as hell, but do you know how much the average milk, er Patreon makes even uses stock 3D assets? You know it, there's Dev's that do only $356 for month, and if he want eight models in this average, it's impossible.
How many games start with 8 different characters, that can't use the same base model like a Victoria 7 that's tweaked? Few if any. Not sure if you were agreeing or disagreeing (you agreed then seemed to not agree with your $356/8 model example), but again.. Unlesss a dev is using a different base model for every single character, it's still not expensive.
I not disagree, I only said about many Dev's that are starting to do new games, when the game worth and have good story the chance of success is increasing, but in other way him only lost money. And You're right when say that is not expensive, but I think, in bad games isn't good choice.
