Development Update #19 - July 31, 2017
Hey Everyone!
So with the release of EP5, came back some issues from the past to haunt everyone. Namely, the buggy minigame code is causing the whole game to be unstable.
I'm working together with the new coder to be able to update the whole system as soon as possible. I'm hoping it can be done this week. I'll put out the new and bug free versions as soon as they are ready, and won't add any new features unless it's been tested extensively by a larger number of people. It took a while, but I learned my lesson, and I'm sorry for any inconvenience this caused.
Now some of you said it was a short Episode. Last Episode has 233 images in the general release, this one had 238. (Extras + Elite version are 300+)
I cannot judge playtime too much, I can only judge the amount of content. By counting lines of dialogue and code (not counting minigame code) EP5 had about 200 less than EP4. (This is on a scale of thousands)
I had some fears that because of the day 10 split, it would feel like this EP is shorter, while content wise it is the same.
After this point, I'm not really sure how to satisfy everyone's needs. If it's linear, it feels longer. If it's not, then you have no choices.
Anyways, I'll figure something out.
The lack of night scenes has come up a few times as well. So you are all aware what the main character did to mom for example, while she was sleeping. The reason for the lack of night scenes is simply that there is nowhere to progress that isn't having sex with her while she's asleep, not how I want it to be.
That said, I'll bring back some night stuff for Episode 6, hopefully it's going to help satisfy some players.
Also, some have mentioned there is a lot of teasing and not too much action.
I'm pleased to announce, the teasing is over.
A lot of times I've been asked about how many Episodes there will be in total. I think I can answer that question roughly now.
I'm aiming for 10-12 Episodes. We'll see how much I can jam into each release.
This raises the question, will there be an other game after Dreams of Desire?
The answer is yes. That is all I'm going to say for now.
Now about more current stuff.
I've got some kind of flu or whatever in the middle of the summer. That's just my luck. But I've been working on the script for Episode 6, and it's almost complete, I'll be done with it by tomorrow. I've already did some work on EP6 images.
I'm doing post work on the July special render for the Elite tier, as that's done I'm going back to work on EP6 and the code rebuilding.
Feedback is welcome, I'm trying to listen to what you guys say and adjust accordingly.
