This game definitely not going down hill. One of the best game around. Just a a fetish you love not in the game doesn't make game bad. And you keep saying people cry but it seems to me you are the one keep crying. Adding 'lol' the every sentence doesn't change that.

I don't think it would be as simple as just Marcus getting the book in order to use it. There's something special about the MC to be able to use the spell. He's sort of a chosen one. But there is also something about the aunt and sister, they at least know about the book and it has great value to them, maybe they're witches or something like that. Something peculiar about Mom's book research into old scrolls too, maybe she's also involved somehow. But there's been no hint that Marcus would be able to use it. He is outside the weirdness.

so my take on how the Story will go is: sister and aunt know about the book and its power. maybe they even know that you are the Chosen one. they know the black-dream-guys are bad and they want to Keep the mc away from the books power because they know the black-dream-guys are bad and will use the mc and maybe even hurt him/them. the classic "your friend (black-dream-guy) is actually your enemy and using you, and your enemy (sister) is just trying to help and protect you" we see in every movie and Serie
