Lain's walkthrough mod works fine with 1.0.3. You just need to rename one file.

Apparently Lain's Mod works with 1.0.3 if you change 1 file name. I don't use mods, so haven't done it myself. But people in the mod thread say they've done it.

Go into the folder where the game is stored on your pc it will be called
DreamsofDesire-(whatever version you have)-pc
Then follow the instructions
INSTALL:
1. Put dodgaltweakab.rpyc in "game" folder (inside the game folder)
UNINSTALL:
1. Delete dodgaltweakab.rpyc

i just have a folder on my desktop for the game ive looked at all the files and do not see the file you are refering to in it all

Extract the game from the zip file.
If you downloaded the version from here - the Folder (when extracted will be - "DreamsofDesire-Definitive-1.0-Elite-pc")
Inside that Folder will be a folder called "game"
You also need to download the "dodgaltweakab.rpyc" file. (download it from This Post)
When you've downloaded that. Put it in the "game" folder.
When I played this game years ago, the "animations" consisted of two frames moving back and forth. Has there been any improvement in the state of the animations in the final version?
i was thinking of replaying this, i barely remember it. what are the essentials to get with it? i was thinkin lain's mod and the quality patch. thoughts?
Does it work for the PC version as well?I've reintroduced the Elite content from the 1.0 into the 1.0.3 GOG (Steam) version.
I'm not sure if this is the only difference with the true 1.0.3 Elite, but if I test the content in the game and/or with the gallery unlock previously posted, it works and you have the alternate endings.
Extract to [somewhere on your disk]\Dreams.of.Desire.Definitive.Edition.v1.0.3.MULTi5-GOG and overwrite old files.

There's a weird fix you need to use if doing Lain's mod since it broke. After getting the game and installing the mod, you need to go to game/scripts/dialogue/dod and then rename the episode1.rpy to script.rpy for any of the choices to be highlighted. I played through without the quality patch and it was fine.
oh really? thanks for the heads up. i assume better quality is always a good thing so that's why i thought i'd use the quality patch. havent played it yet tho probably will next week maybe
