Sin did say that either Episode 7 or Episode 8 you would need to start from the beginning since the old saves wouldn't be compatible with the new minigame code (I believe that's what the issue was). For me Episode 7 brings up the error screen if I try and load saves from previous episodes so I'm fairly certain that it was Ep 7 where you needed to start from the beginning.

I've read things about a minigame in EPisode 6. I guess someone got confused, there was never a plan top get an additional minigame besides the 2 already included up to this point. I wanted the CODE of the minigame to be changed in EP6, but it was delayed until 7.
There were various bugs because of the janky code.
