Everyone just needs to calm down. I get that everyone wants immediate gratification, but come on. The longer the game is in development the more content there will be when it is finally released, and I am pretty sure the dev wants to add as much content as possible to satisfy us. He wants to make it the best version possible with as much content as he can seeing as this is the definitive edition. If he released now with w/e content that he has versus releasing six months from now with even more content, I personally don't mind waiting. I mean look what happened with cyberpunk. It was pushed out to soon due to fan demand/investors wanting to satisfy fans. I am all for the dev taking his time with this definitive edition even if it means waiting another year if that leads to getting even more content!!

First of all, this is a remaster/definitive edition of an already made game. I'm not saying there isn't tons of work that goes into a remaster or DE, especially for a one man team, but it's not like he is gonna release a completely new game from the ground up. And like JormaNainen said, most of the criticism comes from lack of transparancy and communication.

It's not about immediate gratification at all, it's about a dev pretty much abandoning a lackluster game he was working on to work on a remaster of his first, better game. We don't know how far he is or what's going on behind the scenes while he rakes in money. This is an easy way to stretch out a long period of time with good income while working on it like a weekend job, like said before. You simply can't blame people for being critical, pessimistic or even for saying LL is a scammer, because the current situation fits, it's giving me Dual Family flashbacks.

And of course you're one of the people who believes the fans had any influence on the shitshow that was Cyberpunk. I'm not gonna go in-depth because it's off topic, but there are many arguments to choose from to debunk that.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong it could easily be the case that he works his ass off to bring us a very good DE for our beloved Dreams of Desire. But again you can't blame people for assuming the worst, because the worst has happened before under better circumstances than this.

What about Red Dead Redemption 2 that had less development time than Cyberpunk but is one or even the best game ever.

They literally only need to be REGULAR. REGULARITY, as in, STICK TO 1 interval between updated, STATE it in your frontpage, and no one can then complain. But they are showered with cash regardless so... They dgaf.

The truth is that Lewdlad is taking a lot of time while barely comunicating with the people about why he's taking longer than expected except the traditional reasons that in this business are usually seem as "excuses" due to the excessive amount of cases, while simultaneously keeping a game on hold for the main purpose of remaking an older game and sell it on Steam.

The truth also is that most people here are complaining only because their favorite game isn't ready fast enough for them to jerk off as fast as they would like and complain about the activities of a dev using the "miliking" as their shield to look like their main concern is a dev milking others and not their selfishness even when said people aren't helping or contributing to the development of the game and those who did help or contribute are mostly fine with the situation or they would have stopped supporting him long time ago.

One of those truth is "shit" and the other truth is "unwelcome". But yeah, sure, people will choose, say and do whatever they want. The dev probably has nothing on his head or in his life right now, that kind of comment will definitely have a positive impact on him. Great job everyone.

you're not completely wrong, but there are also developers here who really do a good job and also communicate openly and understandably for everyone when something doesn't go so well.

lewdlab does a very good job in terms of quality, but his communication sucks. people feel screwed when he keeps giving out release dates only to fail to keep them and disappear in silence.

I guess it has new renders (or at least the dev showed changes in the models at the beginning) and/or the old renders but with a higher resolution which means rendering them again, and it definitely has over 500 according to

He could've paused his Patreon because of that week he took off, yeah. But he can only pause for a whole month, and to pause a whole month of pledges because he took a week off doesn't sound fair imo. Man's got bills to pay. I also read his post an I believe him tbh, straight up admits he was fucking losing it and I respect that. And we finally got a deadline!
