I did a full reset and its still acting up so unless anything else comes to mind I think I'll just put this back on the backburner for now. Thanks for the help though!

You could check "F1", "F2" or "F3" and switch to gamecontrolls... maybe you changed the key bindings?

Tried that, even hit what I would assume was the "reset defaults" button, then I tried a hard reset again, still no dice : (
