i'm confused, why is he working on fixing the animation when he hired fatcat to do them for him. shouldn't fatcat be the one fixing it for him?
That seems to be the most likely thing! Look at the christmas tree in the background of the Mom and Daughter pics and the daughter wears the green sweater in the second pic. These are no new pics, these are reused old renders.
That part-X preview are likely from last christmas scene

You do not have to be confused! Gumdrop lies the moment he opens his mouth, his promises and deadlines are not worth the paper they are on. Fatcat has mainly been used as a scapegoat, that has been seen several tmes when he answered questions about the animations. Fatcat wonders himself what gumdrop is doing.

Stop! It was probably Kojima, but after the failure of Death Stranding, Gumdrop fired him.
There are some rare moments where I gain some hope for the future of human race, but it can be very damaging to a pessimist person like me. So I rapidly go check his Patreon page, this thread time to time and it never disappoints me:

Considering that Gumdrop takes in thousands of dollars each month for NOTHING done but assinine excuses and reused old renders, citing financial reasons for delays is a joke! Remebering his lies over the years, it is doubtful he hired anybody beside Fatcat at all. Look how he already prepares for the next phony excuse! "It’s not possible for me to promise in good faith there will never be another delay again" , saying something like this when he is already YEARS overdue is rich and shows he will delay again in the future.
