First, the two animations were supposed to be made by FatCat (while GDs team works on future stuff w/e). Of COURSE he just started to look for a new animator if FatCat ditched 50% of the job. We don't know what was going on in the background so let's not pretend we do.
I really get it that people were angry after the first major deadline just got completely ignored (basicaly) trust me I do. Even I took a moment and vented the shit about GDs misbehavior and things he could've done better and so on and so forth but at some point..? It's enough. It simply is enough. It's not worth spending more energy or anger into this topic because there is nothing you can do to improve the situation. I stopped pledging on Patreon and now I'm just waiting. I'm waiting without being desperate because my life still offers some other interests I can follow. And yes, I'm judging you - All of you whiney little kids who got nothing to add but the usual "Scam" and "We need to protect society from GumDrop!" and other tinfoil-hat theories.

And before some smartass thinks "Oh, this is a good opportunity to reply with the usual 'Oh look a GD-defender-tard!'" .. save yourself the trouble because you obviously can't read. There is no doubt that GD could've managed things better and more transparent. At this point all things have been said and done. After countless excuses that collapsed on their own it's clear that the scam is becoming harder to defend, hence the influx of shills lately (at least 1 of them from his discord). That's where people like you come in: you pretend to be a skeptic while promoting the idea that work is being done ("this time for real guys"), that the garbage the scammer writes has, by itself, any value. In reality, there is still no evidence and you can't get over that fundamental problem. That's why your efforts won't work. Go back to his discord if rational people tire you.
I will keep warning naive people about this scam for as long as I can. It has nothing to do with "sounding smart" but with undermining a scammer and helping other people. After all, it costs me nothing.
I woulld like to ask again: will mods consider an [Inactive] tag for cases like these with no development for more than 1 year? the [Onhold] tag is regularly used on games with honest devs, who admit they won't be doing anything for a while. Putting obvious scams like these under the same label is unfair to honest devs. Some differentiation is needed. It would be a nice addition to the forums considering that situations like these will likely become more common in the future.
It's interesting for people to point out how nothing gumdrop is doing makes sense because people keep believing his bullshit. It's a bizarre situation, why do you care if people enjoy talking about it lol?
This is the reason why these shills are so suspicious. Why would they care about people being "too tough" on someone they themselves claim not to trust? not a very natural position to have. Something tells me that they are afraid to be honest about themselves (like the discord shill caught before).
