I'm not sure he is lying tho. He is lazy but don't think he is lying.
Pretty sure they will just tell you to cancel your pledge and that's it.

Captain's Log, day 222

We find ourselves slowly edging ever closer towards the abyss as we stray from the one true path of F95. We have barely managed to escape from the great vortex of MILK-ING VIII, and head to greater, better new horizons, yet the horror from the Void of Gumdrops has scarred us deeply as a crew. As I write this report at an off-world bar with the remnants of the crew, my hands trembling as I sip down my whiskey. The planets doctors and health service have been pushed to the absolute limits, hundreds of surviving pouring in having survived the Gumdrops Void, many suffering urgent treatment for Septic Blue balls.

A brief stop over at Taffy tales revealed great promise and hope, a kind of nega-verse of Summertime saga with a more evil protagonist, it offered little solitude in these restless times. Little Suzy is confused, she asks how a project can survive this long without updates? With such long-winded posts promising the world? What can a father tell his girl to protect her? How does one explain one of the greatest blue-ball baits of patreon of all time? It matters not, for even I not understand the answer.

From the great Void, another gargled message has emerged as we passed through, promising of an update at the start of the New year. Four of the crew have gone completely insane and had to be quarantined, they now rock back and forth with red eyes refusing to blink, muttering to themselves,

*'it's coming any day now, it's coming any day'.* Even as they speak, we know deep down they don't believe themselves, poor fools.

Even the Gumdrops discord has fallen into diss-array, chaos, the most ardent supporters have felt its presence, like a cult that finally managed to summon Cthulu, they have come to realize the true horror they have allowed to spread. The moderators have finally subsided, for if the Void brings no bounty by January, the game shall be classed as abandoned, the mental gymnastics from the dev have finally broken even the will of the great F95 mods, what hope is there for the common man or woman seeking to get their rocks off? What hope I say?

Vanaduke sits in the corner of the bar smoking in his armchair by the fire as I write, grizzled like an old war dog he speaks to the young-uns how he confronted the Gumdrops Void many moons ago, and like a wise prophet and warrior did battle on the discord till he was perma-banned. Even now they speak of him on the discord as a troll in a 'league of his own.'

Thankfully he continues to show some decent fan arts he makes himself, it's groovy.

There are talks from the newbies who have returned to this thread after many months to inquire of news, how I envy them, to be so unaware, for little do they understand women have literally been impregnated, completed their full term and given birth by the time this update is released. Other devs would have been crucified for this, yet the gumdrops Void remains, and even grows in its madness.

Will my crew ever recover after their harrowing survival? Will the Void finally be silenced? Or shall it deliver at last it's darkest promise yet? Only in time shall we know the answer.

Captain Out.

Interestingly enough Patreon still hasn't replied to my complaint.
Their support usually replies within a few hours.

Aside from Kyle, I also criticized them for allowing such smoke & mirrors Creators to run rampant in the first place.
The community has no means to fight back, we can literally just pray the Creator won't fuck us over.
Why would I do business with them again or any of the other Creators after they lost my trust?

We'll see if they'll reply...

I doubt they give a refund. The platform exists to support artists, not to exchange goods. As long as he claims to be continually working on the game, you are supporting him. Just because many creators use the platform to pay for a progressing product, Patreon's own language protects the artists and not those who are paying them. People can argue semantics or intent, but the fact remains that while Patreon tiers technically offer some form of product in exchange for money, that money is in truth just a form of financial support for the artist.

Basically, if you are unhappy with how your money is being spent, your only recourse is to stop giving him money and move on. Complaining about it is a waste of effort.

Also:

"Patreon does not grant refunds because transactions are between patrons and creators.* "

Riiiiiiiiiight.. and Patreon will just snatch 5% of it because they aren't involved in the same transaction in any way.
Their business model is setup to be exploited from the start.
So corruption and fraud is the new norm people agree to nowadays?

Anyway, I wasn't just asking for a simple refund.. I flat out accused Kyle of lying and handed over the proof

Again, I don't think you got much of a leg to stand on. If he is lying then don't support him, tell others to do so. You aren't paying for a product, you are supporting a creator in his work so refund is out of the question and it's hardly corruption of fraud just because of one bad apple.
You aren't being forced, they aren't making it impossible for you to stop your pledge or anything. They take a cut of it since it's their platform so naturally they should get a cut. If you got a store and someone asks if they could sell their product in your store naturally you would want a cut of what he/she sells since they are using your store. That's not fraud or corruption, that's running a business.

As far as I know there are no time requirements either on Patreon(thankfully really) so you can't use that.
So going after Patreon is just silly and won't do any good. It's the supporters that is the key. If they starts to go then things should change, in theory.

Now THAT was good. Probably the best part of entire game. When father flips out seeing his wife go into son's bedroom...
No-o.. she Wouldn't!.. Worthless... Less than Human...Filth... MALICE.
For a moment thought he would run to get a kitchen knife. :p

Otherwise whole father route made me want to gag from all the back and forth with himself: the guy is dishonest, weak and simply nauseating.

Son has issues with his attitude, frustrated and angry because of neglect ( and couple of times can even go full Psycho), but seems more honest with himself and shows genuine concern for others at times. Segment with the "date" with suicide girl was probably the best on his arc.

Tbh, I don't care about Mother or daughter relationship, but that we see more character development on his side, becoming adult, independent, so he ends up leaving this crazy family at the end. ( unlikely though, choices seem to matter little here)

Its 25 January...next year...if thats what you mean
Well that's the deadline he set, he is aiming to release it before that date.
So if he releases it on the 24th he would still be in the clear which wouldn't surprise me at this stage if that was the case.

Technically, by his own words, "primary goal of the next update is to exceed all expectations".

Whatever and whenever that means. :p
