Hey hey everyone! Time for the monthly Devlog :V

Alright, so first off, I will be announcing the release of v0.09 on the day of the 2nd Anniversary of Dungeon Days's release! :V Yeah it's almost time for the second anniversary and I can't believe it came by so quickly! Time sure does fly and all that jazz. So for that matter, the day I'll be releasing early early access will be on OCTOBER 27th! This'll give me an extra week of polish work and also just aligns with the anniversary date :V

So for that matter, v0.09 is going along well. Had to reorganize a little because one scene in particular was rather IMMENSE, so had to cut that in two, but otherwise things are trucking at a decent enough pace. I don't want to jinx anything but I will say that you guys are at least getting more scenes than the previous two updates for sure, that is confirmed.

And now, I want to address some elephants in the room, some more obvious than others. The first being the new sprite system that I've been testing out.

I'm not gonna lie, I personally like it a lot and I'm fairly happy with the results I've been getting. I was raised on a TON of games that implemented sprites as a core aspect of more blanketed, non-action conversations. So for me, it's a bit nostalgic but something comfortable that I still think works well for Dungeon Days. It's still in practice today and still widely used for many, many current VNs and games out there as well! Now, do I wish that I had done this from the beginning so that the style change wasn't as abrupt? Yes. But I have to make steps to keep my sanity in check and doing this helps alleviate a lot of stress and pressure on me during development.

Speaking of, I just want to clarify, not use as an excuse, that if you don't already know, I work a full-time job as well as do this. Along with other responsibilities out in the world, I try and fill in my off work time with work on Dungeon Days and the occasional game session to de-stress. I can't tell you how many hours of sleep I've lost trying to figure out something in the studio or writing or editing or finding music, etc. I'm just saying that I'm doing this with some help from friends, but I'm the only dedicated worker on this long, long project.

And speaking of that, I also wanted to talk about the less obvious elephant in the room that I realized I never actually discussed; the length of Dungeon Days... 1. Yeah you read right. So when I first started Dungeon Days, I planned it to be long. Like, "gonna take me several years" long. I was thinking it would be a good romp to do on the side and maybe make my main job. I was, of course, horribly mistaken and didn't realize how much work would be needed to put into it. And then when I finally had a sit down with a friend and really boiled it down, I realized something a bit horrifying...

With everything that I've done in these last two years, I've only done a little over 5% of the FIRST Dungeon Days. I had planned for THREE Dungeon Days, a trilogy. To say that I bit off more than I could chew is an understatement but at the time of conception, I didn't think it would nearly be that long for development time. For total clarity, I currently have planned, after shortening it, to six total Arcs, each dedicated to a pair of the main characters and then the ending arc. The Wes & Pah Arc, the Celeste & Rainha Arc, the Koko & Adzumi Arc, the Vanhi & Kendra Arc, and the Callie & Juliet Arc. At the moment, we are at the beginning of Part 2 of 3 on the Wes & Pah Arc.

To elaborate a little, this is NOT a finalized list, but rather what I had had planned and recently realized how much was left. A staggering amount, especially at the pace I was at. I'm currently in the works on trying to figure out ways to condense things or shorten stuff so this will most likely be changed up in the future. But I'd rather be clear with you all in the scope of Dungeon Days and why sometimes it may seem like I have odd scenes or conversations that seem unnecessary. Let me say that I don't make unnecessary scenes because I don't have the time for it.

The last thing I want is to deceive my audience in terms of VN development and this devlog was a chunky one so let me know if you have any questions. Hey hey everyone! Time for the monthly devlog! :V

So a bit out of the norm, I'm having two devlogs for this one because Dungeon Days's SECOND ANNIVERSARY IS IN A WEEK! HELL YEAH! And if you looked at my previous Devlog, I stated that the first release would be on Oct 27th to coincide with this :V Obviously, this is a big deal and I'm hoping that with everything I have cooking, you're gonna enjoy the next update as much as I have been making it! With that being said, I'm going to generally keep this Devlog pretty brief and just give a quick update to everything going on in reference to the previous devlog.

I think the only thing that I need to address at the moment is going to be the new length of Dungeon Days... well, this Dungeon Days anyways. Originally, I had wanted to do 6 arcs with the various characters and such but after mulling it over and discussing it with colleagues, I decided that it would be in my best interest to condense it down... dramatically. At first I did a pretty sizable trim, but eventually I realized I would need to make Dungeon Days wrapped around several stories instead of trying to do everything in one giant one. So! With that, the first Dungeon Days has been narrowed down to JUST the Wes & Pah Arc! This will allow me to focus more on just them and really shape them out in the FOLLOWING updates and create and focus on one particular story instead of worrying about every story I had planned. Hopefully, this will really help production and allow me to enjoy the process a lot more :V

Besides this, there really isn't much else to say about the update that I won't get to on the 27th, so I'll just wait there! So with that, see you in a week for the next update :V

Hey hey everyone! I welcome you to the 2nd Anniversary of Dungeon Days! WOOOOO!

So much has happened in the last two years and so much is going to keep happening in the future! I am so humbled and happy about all the progress we have made and how much I have figured out and done in these short years. Truly, I am blessed with a great community and great friends who keep pushing me along to do what I need to do!

As for the date... yes, it IS the 28th. Had some issues last night that prevented me from being home to do all this but now I'm back and ready to celebrate and get that Early Early Access out for peeps who got the Janny Tier for it! On November 1st, I'll release the Early Access for Knight Tier and up and on November 10th, I'll be releasing it out for the Public!

So I won't get into too too much talking in the devlog as well as I'll leave it for the Public release. There I'll be talking about the future of Dungeon Days and my plans going forward. What I can say though is that v0.10 is going to be on January 10th. That's right, 3 months. It's the holidays and this year I've had a lot of new issues to deal with for the holiday season so I'm sprinkling my workload a little lighter so I can get through the holiday season without a ton of issues... only a few issues instead :V

Anyways, that's all for now and once again, thanks SO SO SO much for supporting and following me throughout my second year of making Dungeon Days! :V

Alright everyone, and with that, the Public Release of v0.09 is READY! And with it, a lot of new stuff to stew on and a lot of stuff I can finally talk about :V

Firstly, sorry about the date issue... it was always meant for the 7th. I'm just a derp, so sorry about that for the last devlog! And while I'm talking about scheduling, I want to reiterate that the next update won't be until JANUARY! I want to get through the holidays with not as much stress so taking a little bit longer to give me some leeway. I'll still be doing Devlogs like I have been on the 20th of each month, so I'll still be keeping in touch :V

Second, let's talk about the update itself! We have 5 (albeit, one pretty small) scenes that are wrapping up the first little hump of Arc 2. Yes, that's right, Arc 2. While I was making this update, I have also done something absolutely incredible (for me)... I have planned out and outlined every single scene for Dungeon Days 1! Honestly, this has relieved so much for me and I can now say that I have an actual (rough) timeline for how long the first Dungeon Days is going to be! And let's just say, that it's a MUCH more manageable amount than the first planned out 20 years lol With this, I have a clear goal and set sections to look at and do for the rest of the development process! And may I say that I feel relieved to finally get this figured out.

With this in mind, for the next month or so, I'm also going to try and take an extra step forward and do (what I consider) light work and write the rest of Dungeon Days's script out. Even though I love to write, this will still be a huge task, one that will probably be ever changing as I work on the VN but clearing out an entire part of the game will make this so much easier in the long run! I'm also going to catch up on a few things that have either been requested or that I haven't had enough time to get through, so along with the writing, I'm hoping to get a lot of QoL stuff done :V

Lastly, I'm going to be changing up the Patreon and Subscribestar rewards pretty soon. I'm still toying with the Goblin Tier idea, but besides that, there will be some minor changes to the rewards. I haven't quite figured it entirely out yet, but I wanted to let you all know in advance and will let you know in a short devlog if/when it happens.

Well, besides that, I really hope that you keep enjoying Dungeon Days! I have a wonderful community and friends that help me out every day and appreciate wholeheartedly! Without a doubt, the last two years have been a wild ride but I wouldn't dare have it any other way! All I can ask is for your support and promotion of Dungeon Days to fellow AVN lovers and let them also be a part of this adventure with us for another year!

yeah... it was waste of download
don't want to be hard on dev, he free to cook whatever the hell he wants to, but as of right now this game just not going anywhere
still endless chatter of random who-the-fuck-cares npcs, still plot on vacation somewhere, still no MC... anyone even remembers what this one was about? something about a dungeon, i think i've seen this word somewhere?.. nah, must be the wind

I'm a little confused on the way the game is being condensed/split up. Is it becoming essentially episodic now? Is it like each arc/game is going to be centered around a different girl?

so can we kill Vhani and Kendra in the future or are we required to keep them around? If it was up to me let Pha kill them both.

Edit: at least Vhani is "just" a remorseful sexed up idiot

you wouldn't want my rating after the last update also you mixed up the variables when Vhani and Kendra talk about Vhani sleeping with Wes
the whole scene was shit and unavoidable to boot, you should tag your game with NTR so that people can move on if they aren't interested in this dreg
