Hello. satren3845 . Sorry to bother. The text fix that I believe you made for the game is for the EX version of the game, not the one provided here, right? At least, I tested it and it seemed to crash immediately on this version, which I believe makes sense. While ex would be cool, it seem it'll be some time before there's a translation, so I was hoping to play game now.
To my dismay though, I'm having an issue with the text where it appears quite large and goes off of the text boxes. There's a choice the game gives you near the start, and I'm unable to even see what options are, rendering the game pretty unplayable. Several people stated there's text wrapping issues, and in earlier posts some state that changing to Japanese locale fixes it. However, on both my linux machines, this fix does not seem to be working. I've experienced the need to set to Japanese locale before and have a workaround for such occasions, but it does not appear to be functioning for this title.
So my question, or perhaps request, is it possible for there to be a text fix for the game as it is now? Much appreciated.

I've only skimmed through posts to try to get an answer so if anyone else knows one I'd be welcome to hear it. I played this game a while ago and remember liking it, and wanted to give it another go to remember why.

If you are running the Kagura Games English version, there should be no fix needed.
If you're trying to run the game on Linux though that's probably your issue. I looked through the discord and found a Linux user with a screenshot mentioning the same problem you described, but sadly it doesn't seem like anyone found a solution besides just using a windows virtual machine.

Yes, I had figured that it was a linux related issue, which is why I had mentioned that detail. Since my laptop where I prefer to play these sorts of games (due to not being on display in the livingroom) is pretty low performance, running a windows vm is not really an option. Nor would I bother to do so even if it was. I had hoped that perhaps a 3rd party method of text fix may fare better to helping resolve the issue, but if you think it would not then I suppose my hands are tied. Quite frustrating to hear. Thank you for looking into it.

This is version 1 of a WIP complete version of dungeon town EX.

Basically, this takes the Japanese version with all content and merges the Kagura Games translation into it.
So that you can go from a Kagura Games english save, enter the EX content, and play it with the english UI and interface.
On top of that a wide spread of random work has been done, mostly related to gameplay. But it's still far, far from complete.

Although various parts are rough and messy, this should serve as a good basis for anybody who wants to work on this game.
If that person is you, download this and check the patch-resources folder.
Outside of a few things, all the work left to do involves is editing the game data files, which have already been extracted and are in plaintext. Of course, the problem is the sheer amount of content to edit...

Tool to upgrade Kagura games saves to saves compatible with EX version is included.

I am not currently planning to do more on this and if I am I will announce it.
So anybody who wants to work on this is free to take over.
Just announce that you're doing so here so that other people will know.

If you run into any technical issues (besides the ones already in the readme), like crashes or garbled text, post about those. I would likely fix those.
But if you run into stuff like bad translations, typos, or bad writing, just fix those yourself if you're able to notice them.
