Yes, that is correct. I personally asked Blue about this and he told me that old saves will not work for Days 8&9. You have to use saves from the Week 1 release in order for them to work on Days 8&9. I imagine this is because of all the changes made, like the script rewrites.

Press the pin button to show/hide the bar on the left.
Press the dark button to show/hide the colored option circle
Or disable all the stuff on the screen in the menus for a undisturbed view
